Apple caused controversy for using the word "quickly" before launching iPhone Duo sales

(Dan Tri) - Before opening pre-orders for iPhone Duo in Vietnam, the message "We appreciate your diligence" on the Apple Store made many people think the company had made a spelling mistake.

On the afternoon of October 16, the online Apple Store page in Vietnam suddenly attracted the attention of the online community when it switched to the interface waiting to open pre-orders for iPhone Duo, Apple's first folding screen phone model.

Instead of displaying products as usual, the website appears with a glowing Apple logo on a blue background, with a large message: "We appreciate your diligence."

Below is the content: "All is almost ready. You can reserve from 7:00 p.m., Vietnam time. See you."

Notably, the use of the word "lucky" in the message made many social network users wonder. Some argue that Apple misspelled the word "luck", while others believe this is the company's intentional use of the word.

However, "quickly" is actually a meaningful word in Vietnamese, not a spelling error.

According to Vietnamese dictionary data on Vtudien, "quick" is explained as "not slow", or "quick and enthusiastic". Some examples given by the dictionary include "Has a quick disposition" and "He is very quick at work".

Thus, the word "quick" is often used to describe agility, resourcefulness, initiative and enthusiasm when performing a certain task.

Meanwhile, "luck" has a completely different meaning, referring to encountering good and favorable things, often associated with elements of randomness or chance.

Even though they differ by only one letter, these two words are not interchangeable in all contexts.

Placed in the context of Apple preparing to open iPhone Duo pre-orders, the message "We appreciate your quickness" can be understood as the company appreciates the agility and initiative of customers when waiting for new products.

However, this is still a relatively strange expression in modern Vietnamese. In particular, when "luck" is a more common phrase in daily communication, it is not difficult to understand why many people at first glance thought that Apple had a spelling mistake.

Apple did not provide an official explanation for the choice of words in the above message.

According to information on Apple Vietnam's official website, iPhone Duo is the company's first folding screen iPhone model. The device has a 7.6-inch internal screen, uses the A20 Pro chip, 48MP Dual Fusion camera system and titanium hinge design.

In the Vietnamese market, iPhone Duo has a starting price of 64,999 million VND for the 256GB version. Higher capacity options include 512GB, 1TB and 2TB, with the highest price of 103,999 million VND.

According to the schedule announced by Apple, iPhone Duo will begin accepting pre-orders from 7:00 p.m. on October 16 (Vietnam time) and will officially be available from October 23.
