Apple launches iPad mini OLED, priced from 19.5 million VND

Apple says the OLED screen helps the new iPad mini have higher contrast and twice the maximum brightness than its predecessor. Color is also an outstanding advantage of the OLED screen, it is brighter and especially the absolute deep black is significantly different from the LCD screen. The screen size has been increased from the previous generation's 8.3 inches to 8.5 inches.

The new model still uses a 60 Hz refresh rate instead of ProMotion 120 Hz as rumored. This is likely a way for Apple to divide outstanding features between models, keeping ProMotion as a feature of the iPad Pro series, which is intended for professional users.
In return, the option that is only available for Pro lines such as iPad Pro and MacBook Pro is available on the new iPad mini, which is a nano-texture screen, which helps reduce glare in strong light environments. Users will spend an additional 2.8 million VND and can only choose with 256 GB and 512 GB storage capacities. Practical experience on previous iPad Pro shows that nano-texture not only helps reduce glare but also makes the touch experience better, suitable for reading books and viewing text content for long periods of time.
The screen is larger, but the new iPad mini is 15% thinner and lighter than its predecessor. Specifically, the wifi version is 5.4 mm thick and weighs 255 grams compared to 6.3 mm and 294 grams of the previous generation. The model with 5G and wifi connection weighs 263 grams. This is also a rare iPad line that meets IP67 water and dust resistance standards.
After launching on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo last month, the A20 Pro chip is also used on iPad mini, but with different versions depending on capacity. The 128 GB, 256 GB model uses a chip with a 5-core CPU, 7-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine, while the 512 GB version has a 6-core CPU, 7-core GPU and two 16-core Neural Engines.
Owning the A20 Pro chip helps the new iPad mini have the power of a professional line from Apple, suitable even for content creators and video editors that are not too heavy on a compact size. This is a chip manufactured on TSMC's advanced 2 nm process and has a Neural Accelerator in each GPU core. A20 Pro delivers 60% faster CPU performance, 2.7x faster graphics performance, and up to 4.5x faster AI performance compared to the A17 Pro chip in the previous generation iPad mini.
The company also completely redesigned the speaker system by no longer using speaker holes on the side but coming from behind the screen. Specially designed subwoofers pair through the screen to create strong bass and greater volume. Additionally, custom tweeters are hidden between the glass and aluminum housing to deliver clearer highs. This is what Apple calls the Acoustic Display sound system that eliminates all flower holes. The device integrates Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and USB-C port. The device is compatible with Pencil Pro and Pencil (USB-C).
iPad mini OLED is priced from 19.5 million VND for the wifi version and 23.7 million VND for the version with additional mobile network connection. Capacity options are 128, 256 and 512 GB. The selling price for pupils, students, and people working in the education industry is from 18.1 million VND.
