Apple has just launched a new iPad mini, and according to Apple itself, this is the biggest upgrade ever of this compact tablet line. The device switches to an 8.5-inch OLED screen, only 5.4 mm thin, runs on the A20 Pro chip on a 2 nm process, has IP67 water and dust resistance standards, a 12 MP front camera placed on the horizontal edge, with an N1 network chip and C2 modem designed by Apple itself. The device runs iPadOS 27 with new generation Apple Intelligence and Siri AI. Prices start from 19,499,000 VND for the 128GB Wi-Fi version. Pre-order from Wednesday, October 28, on sale from Friday, November 6 in 36 countries and territories.
Thinner, lighter and IP67
The new iPad mini is only 5.4 mm thick. Apple says the device is significantly thinner and lighter than the previous generation, so holding it in one hand to read or work on the go will be more comfortable. There are two colors: new midnight and starlight.

The 7-core GPU has Neural Accelerator in each core, helping AI performance up to 4.5 times faster than the previous generation, suitable for running AI models on the computer or local LLM. The new graphics architecture features dynamic caching, mesh shading and hardware-accelerated ray tracing, increasing graphics performance by up to 2.7 times.

The Cellular version uses the new generation C2 modem, mobile data speed is up to 50% faster than the previous iPad mini and is more energy efficient. The device supports eSIM and fast charging.

The device runs iPadOS 27 with Siri AI, a completely new version of Siri running on Apple Intelligence, being released in beta form. Price in the US from 699 USD for Wi-Fi version and from 849 USD for Wi-Fi + Cellular version, educational price from 649 USD. Customers pre-order from October 28 on apple.com and the Apple Store app in 36 countries and territories, products will arrive and be available in stores from November 6. Apple has not announced the price and sales schedule in Vietnam. Regarding the environment, the device uses 35% recycled materials, of which the aluminum casing is 100% recycled and the cobalt in the battery is 100% recycled.
