(Dan Tri) - Many retail systems in Vietnam have stopped accepting iPhone Duo pre-orders due to full capacity in the first batch. Those who order through Apple's online store may have to wait until January 27, 2027 to receive the device.
From 7:00 p.m. on October 16, Vietnamese users can pre-order iPhone Duo through Apple's online store and authorized retail systems. This is Apple's first folding screen iPhone.
According to information from TopZone, this system ran out of iPhone Duo deposits after just one minute. To date, both TopZone and CellphoneS have stopped accepting iPhone Duo orders.

"The number of phones in the first batch is limited, so the appointment date is based on the order in which the deposit is completed, and the accompanying incentives also apply according to the rate and are subject to change. We prioritize providing customers with clear and transparent information right at the time they deposit," Mr. Nguyen Lac Huy, communications representative of CellphoneS system, shared.
Meanwhile, some other systems notify buyers to wait at least until the end of November or December, and do not commit to an exact delivery time.
"The supply of iPhone Duo is quite limited in the first sale, especially with the White Starlight 256GB version. We expect to complete returns to pre-ordered customers at the end of November or early December, depending on the progress of goods allocation from Apple," a representative of Hoang Ha Mobile shared.
Even customers who order iPhone Duo on Apple's online store may have to wait until the end of January 2027. As noted by Dan Tri reporter, when ordering iPhone Duo at 10:00 p.m. on October 16, users will receive notification of expected delivery on January 27, 2027.
Thus, iPhone Duo buyers will have to wait more than 3 months to receive the goods. Notably, this period is only about a week earlier than the 2027 Lunar New Year holiday.
In early October, a source close to Foxconn's supply chain said that the rate of finished products in the final assembly of the iPhone Duo was only slightly more than 60%. According to Apple's current quality standards, the assembly line may need another 6 months to a year to reach stable and optimal performance.
"Foxconn is continuously adjusting equipment, assembly processes and specifications during the large-scale production deployment for iPhone Duo. Suppliers are also waiting to see whether Apple will relax any quality requirements to speed up production," this source revealed.

This may be the reason why iPhone Duo supply became scarce in the early stages of sale, leading to a long-term out of stock situation.
"Long-term shortage of stock can push up the price of iPhone Duo in the secondary market. To limit the above problem, dealers have applied a deposit regulation of 30 million VND for each device, and each phone number will only be allowed to buy one device," a representative of Mobile America shared.
In the Vietnamese market, Apple offers iPhone Duo with a starting price of 65 million VND for the 256GB version. Versions with larger storage capacity such as 512GB, 1TB and 2TB are priced at 71.5 million VND, 84.5 million VND and 104 million VND respectively.
The device has 2 color options including Starlight White and Night Sky. The first batch of iPhone Duo units will be delivered to users at 8:00 a.m. October 23.
