Dripping supply of iPhone Duo in Vietnam

(Dan Tri) - Some large retail systems in Vietnam said that Apple has not announced the time of supply for the next batch of iPhone Duo, in the context that the number of devices distributed in the first phase is still limited.

Apple started selling its first folding screen iPhone from the morning of October 23. However, the actual amount of goods that agents deliver to consumers in the Vietnamese market is not much.

Talking to Dan Tri reporter, a representative of a large distribution chain said that on the first day this system delivered about 1,800 iPhone Duo to users. Other dealers deliver about 150-200 machines to customers who pre-order.

According to a source close to Apple, the entire Vietnamese market will only be supplied with about 5,000 iPhone Duo units in the first phase. Compared to the opening sale of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, this number is only about 1/10 of the number of devices.

The shortage of goods also causes the price of iPhone Duo to continuously increase in the secondary market. On iPhone buying and selling groups, it is not difficult for users to come across posts selling iPhone Duo at a price difference of 20-30 million VND compared to the listed selling price from the company.

Previously, iPhone Duo was sold out right from the deposit stage. Even customers who ordered iPhone Duo on Apple's online store received a notification that they had to wait until the end of January 2027 to receive the device.

"Within just a few minutes of opening reservations, the system recorded a large number of interested customers and deposits for iPhone Duo. High capacity versions such as 1TB and 2TB also quickly sold out in a short time. This shows the attraction and interest of the Vietnamese market for iPhone Duo, Apple's first folding phone," said a representative of CellphoneS.

In Vietnam, Apple offers iPhone Duo with a starting price of 65 million VND for the 256GB version. Versions with larger storage capacity such as 512GB, 1TB and 2TB are priced at 71.5 million VND, 84.5 million VND and 104 million VND respectively.

Apple is the fifth manufacturer to officially distribute folding screen phones in the Vietnamese market. Previously, Samsung, OPPO, Honor and Motorola participated in this segment. iPhone Duo is expected to become one of the key products during the shopping season at the end of 2026.

Experts at Counterpoint Research predict that iPhone Duo production will reach 6 million devices by 2026. This is expected to help give Apple 25% of the global market share and rise to 2nd place, behind Samsung (38%) and ahead of Huawei (22%).
