iPhone Duo begins selling globally

Apple opens iPhone Duo pre-orders from October 16 in more than 70 countries and territories, including the US, UK, China, Japan, Singapore and Vietnam. The product is available to users in these markets from today, starting in Australia and New Zealand. By October 30, the device continued to be sold in 28 other countries and territories.

In front of some Apple Stores around the world, many people lined up to buy devices, including some who arrived a day early. According to the account of an Apple fan named Lexus C on Twitter, at the Apple Store on Fifth Avenue (USA), about 40-50 people lined up to buy iPhone Duo 14 hours before opening time.

At the Apple Store in Broadway, Sydney, user Boardiesboi described that at 8am, an estimated 60 people were waiting to buy the device directly. However, only about 20 people were purchased, the rest were rejected. "The atmosphere was more crowded than on the opening day of the iPhone 18 Pro Max," this account wrote.

According to Tech Guide, Jeremy Cabral became one of the first people to receive the iPhone Duo when he was present at the Apple Store on George Street in Sydney from October 19 and waited in line for 5 days. He had the word "Duo" tattooed on his wrist and said he planned to donate the phone to raise funds to fight homelessness.

According to MacRumors, retail stores can only distribute a limited number of iPhone Duo for customers to buy directly on launch day. This site quotes an Apple representative as saying that the product will soon sell out due to "extremely large" demand.

In some other markets, users cannot buy the device directly, but must order in advance and have a delivery schedule. According to sources, this situation occurs in France, China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Thailand and UAE.

In Vietnam, systems start delivering to customers who pre-order from 8am, but the number of devices is small, so there are no aggressive sales programs like with the iPhone 18 Pro series in September.

According to Mr. Doan Van Hieu Em, CEO of TopZone, the system delivered about 1,800 iPhone Duo devices today, only meeting a small part of actual demand. Previously, on the opening day for sale of iPhone 18 Pro series on September 18, TopZone delivered nearly 20,000 devices.

Meanwhile, a representative of CellphoneS said that it has started delivering Duo to pre-ordered customers in all 180 stores, with each location having only a few to a few dozen devices. A representative of the store on Quang Trung Street, Hanoi said that this is one of the locations with the most devices distributed, but it can only pay for more than 10 pre-orders per day.

According to Apple's regulations, systems must require customers to receive iPhone Duo activation right at the store.

Apple Store Online also begins shipping to customers who order iPhone Duo from today. The difference is that the buyer does not have to activate the product upon receipt but must pay in full from the date of order. Apple's online site allows ordering iPhone Duo in all capacity and color versions, but the delivery time has now been delayed to early 2027. Genuine accessories for the product can be delivered immediately depending on the type.

iPhone Duo is Apple's first folding screen phone, starting at $1,999. The device comes in two colors: white and blue, uses the A20 Pro chip and iOS 27.1 operating system. Apple equips the product with a custom-designed hinge system, a titanium body and a 48-megapixel main camera system. When folded, the device uses a 5.4-inch external screen, while when opened, the 7.6-inch screen is aimed at entertainment and multitasking needs.

In Vietnam, iPhone Duo has a starting price of 64.99 million for the 256 GB version and a highest price of 103.99 million VND for the 2 TB version, equivalent to some high-end computer models. Users have two color options: Star White and Night Sky.

According to VnExpress sources, the number of iPhone Duo delivered in the first batch in the country is about 10,000, not including Apple Store Online. "This number is very small compared to the actual survey demand but is higher than the sales of all other foldable phone brands," a representative of a retail system revealed.
