iPhone Duo cracked screen at the hinge: will Apple repeat the 2019 Galaxy Fold?
Recently, while surfing social networks, I have seen many pictures of iPhone Duo with a crack inside the display screen. I doubt this will be serious for Apple, because Samsung went through the same thing when it launched its first folding phone in 2019.
Errors appear in many places and have one thing in common: the hinge
If you notice, most of the faulty iPhone Duos crack from one point right at the hinge, then run horizontally to the left and right of the screen, some even run down. The error is not just in one place:
JerryRigEverything tested the iPhone Duo's durability: dust stuck on the hinge, bending it backwards caused the folding screen to die Zack Nelson's YouTube channel JerryRigEverything has just posted a video testing the durability of the iPhone Duo, Apple's first folding phone. Result: the device did not pass the test, the folding screen inside was completely damaged after the test, and according to Nelson, the cost of replacing the screen... Tinhte.vn

It took Samsung about 5 months to fix the Galaxy Fold hinge
Let me remind you of the same story: in April 2019, Samsung ready the Galaxy Fold and sent the device to content creators to prepare for a big introduction. When receiving the device, some people didn't know how to peel off the top sticker, damaging the screen, but some people didn't peel it off and the screen was also damaged. In the end, it was discovered that the hinge design was not good, causing dust to get in.
The early 2019 Galaxy Fold also had a screen error related to the hinge Samsung redesigned the hinge to be more tight, extended the protective layer, then postponed the sale date until September, which took about 5 months to investigate and handle, and declared a warranty if the device had a problem. It was a huge scandal in the smartphone industry, but Samsung persevered through it and now their Fold line is great, I think it is the best folding phone today. After Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi, Vivo, and Honor all make folding phones without this type of error, and are even very good. iPhone Duo came out later, but now it has a hinge error, which is a serious matter.
Apple is losing its thoroughness
After holding and using the iPhone Duo, I found it had quite silly errors, such as the interface, which means Apple didn't really take care of it carefully enough. This is a very expensive and very sensitive phone, just not being careful in any part can lead to such a disaster.
John Ternus, CEO of Apple, criticized other brands' folding machines right at the launch
The application is not optimized for iPhone Duo, this application is from Apple. During the launch, Apple CEO John Ternus also criticized other brands' folding machines and said Apple did it more carefully. As a long-time user of Apple products, I have also felt that Apple is always careful about every little detail to bring a better experience. But up to this point, the iPhone Duo clearly does not bring a better experience: the device is both thicker and heavier, and has a worse hinge, so Apple's meticulous reputation seems to only be in the past. For those of you who accidentally bought an iPhone Duo, I think don't worry, if you don't do anything and the device breaks down, Apple will definitely have to exchange it or compensate you, but it can't let the user bear the blame. I doubt this will become a scandal, and sometimes it takes a scandal like that to wake Apple up.
