iPhone Duo: everywhere you look, you see a difference. Those with OCD should consider carefully before buying

If you have OCD, I think you should not buy an iPhone Duo. After a few days of holding the phone, I saw that almost everything on Apple's first folding phone was wrong: from the external screen, the internal screen to the software, even the hardware design. I have mild OCD so I can still use it, but those who are difficult about balance should read this article carefully. I intentionally left the cover image askew so that those of you who are uncomfortable will know that it is difficult to use Duo. You can watch the full experience video here:

External screen: dock bar on the right, square corner on one side, rounded on the other side

On the external screen, the dock bar is not located at the bottom like a regular iPhone but is placed on the right hand side.

Internal screen: still misaligned, unless you rotate the device vertically

When I open the device, everything is the same. The dock is still on the right and the content is displayed slightly to the left, for example in Apple's photo library interface.

While using the screen horizontally, the dock is still close to the right edge If you want to get rid of the misalignment, you can turn the machine vertically and use it. Then many applications will display more balanced and even. When used horizontally, or folded to use an external screen, there is always a bar on the right hand side. For people with OCD, I think this is not a good experience.

Third-party applications are not optimized and hope Apple gives more customization

People without OCD may still feel uncomfortable, because some applications are not optimized so the content is still skewed to the left. Facebook has been optimized, there is a small bar on the right, but when I turn on the photo posting interface to type on the keyboard, it feels quite odd, a part is missing on one side. This story will probably be updated soon so you don't need to worry too much.

Facebook comments on Galaxy Z Fold8 (left) and iPhone Duo (right) What I'm more interested in is the dock on the right. I understand Apple placed it askew to make it easier for right-handed users to operate, and they have certainly researched the UX a lot. But in reality, this bar is still a bit thick. Just make it a little thinner, the icon a little smaller and it's good, because it's right under your finger, no matter how you touch it, you don't have to worry about pressing the wrong button.
