iPhone Duo is delivered to Vietnamese users

(Dan Tri) - From 8:00 a.m. on October 23, Apple and its authorized dealers began delivering the first iPhone Duo to Vietnamese customers.

As noted by Dan Tri reporters at a number of Apple authorized dealers, the number of customers coming to receive their devices on the morning of October 23 was significantly less than during the opening sale of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

The reason does not come from the product's attraction becoming less attractive or the barrier of selling price. Instead, limited supply is considered the main reason why dealers have not been able to deliver the devices to all customers who have ordered them.

The Starlight White color version is the best seller

Preliminary statistics from dealers show that iPhone Duo 256GB is the version most chosen by Vietnamese consumers in this sale.

"On October 23, the system will deliver a total of 1,800 iPhone Duo units to customers nationwide. Based on the entire number of orders, 60% of buyers choose the 256GB version. Of which, 70% of users choose Starlight White color," said Mr. Doan Van Hieu Em, CEO of TopZone system.

Similar trends were also recorded at a series of other retail systems. Minh Tuan Mobile system said that by the end of October 22, the unit recorded the total number of pre-orders for new generation product lines exceeding 4,000 orders. Among them, most users are interested in iPhone Duo with 256GB capacity and Starlight White color.

Also according to agents, the amount of goods delivered to Vietnamese customers on the first day of sale was not much. Users will need to wait a while for the next batches of goods to be distributed to the Vietnamese market.

"In the first sale, the system is expected to meet about 2.5% of the total number of interested customers. Of which, the 256GB version dominates with 72% of choices, followed by the 512GB version with 20%, the 1TB version with 5% and the 2TB version with 3%," said a representative of Di Dong Viet.

When will there be enough stock?

iPhone Duo is Apple's first folding screen iPhone. Right from opening the pre-order portal on the evening of October 16, this product quickly fell out of stock. Accordingly, many users received a notice that they had to wait 2-3 months to receive their device.

"Within just a few minutes of opening reservations, the system recorded a large number of interested customers and deposits for iPhone Duo. High capacity versions such as 1TB and 2TB also quickly sold out in a short time.

This shows the attraction and interest of the Vietnamese market for iPhone Duo, Apple's first folding phone," said Mr. Nguyen Lac Huy, communications representative of CellphoneS system.

iPhone Duo is offered by Apple with a starting price of 65 million VND for the 256GB version. Versions with larger storage capacity such as 512GB, 1TB and 2TB are priced at 71.5 million VND, 84.5 million VND and 104 million VND respectively.

Apple is the fifth manufacturer to officially distribute folding screen phones in the Vietnamese market. Previously, Samsung, OPPO, Honor and Motorola participated in this segment.

iPhone Duo is expected to become one of the key products during the shopping season at the end of 2026, when Apple joins the folding screen smartphone segment for the first time.

Experts at Counterpoint Research predict that iPhone Duo production will reach 6 million devices by 2026. This is expected to help give Apple 25% of the global market share and rise to 2nd place, behind Samsung (38%) and ahead of Huawei (22%).

"In the early stages, supply is a factor that directly affects iPhone Duo sales. However, the number of pre-orders exceeding 3,000 devices is considered a positive signal about market demand for the new product line. Purchasing power will continue to be maintained when supply gradually stabilizes in November," a representative of Hoang Ha Mobile shared.
