The Sony WH-1000XM4C bring back a beloved headphone design

Sony has revived the classic design of their popular WH-1000XM4 headphones with the new XM4C model, offering familiar performance and a more affordable price point.

  • The Sony WH-1000XM4C retails for 300 dollars and heavily resembles the six-year-old original XM4 design.
  • It features the same 40mm drivers, comfortable ear cups, folding mechanism, and a hard zippered travel case.
  • Battery life is rated at 27 hours with active noise cancellation enabled, slightly lower than the 30 hours of the predecessor.
  • A user-replaceable battery is included to comply with European regulations, though instructions and spare parts are not yet clear for North American buyers.
  • Notable omissions include the lack of Bluetooth LE and Auracast support out of the box.
