UGREEN HomeAgent HA100 opens for pre-order at 799 USD: NAS and AI hub running locally, still in beta

UGREEN has just opened pre-orders for the HomeAgent HA100, a rather strange hybrid device: both a NAS, a locally running AI computer, a surveillance camera recorder, and a smart home hub. The reservation price is 799 USD, half the listed price of 1,599 USD that the company announced, with a deposit of 50 USD to hold the spot. Please note that this is just a booking, not a retail purchase. The machine's Kickstarter campaign is expected to start on November 17, 2026, the machine will be delivered around February 2027, not available immediately. Main information:

The most notable point of HA100 is 26 TOPS of local AI performance. This number includes 20 TOPS from the separate T20 accelerator and 6 TOPS from the Rockchip RK3588 platform itself, with 4 Cortex-A76 cores and 4 Cortex-A55 cores. The device has 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM but cannot be upgraded, so don't expect to buy it and then add more RAM when it feels slow.

Regarding storage, HA100 has 2 SATA trays for regular NAS data, plus 1 separate SATA tray for surveillance drives, and 1 M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen 3 x1 slot for memory, cache or AI model storage.

The main network port is 2.5GbE, with 4 10/100Mbps PoE ports with a total capacity of 65W to supply power and data to the camera through a single network cable. In addition, the device also has USB-C, 2 USB-A ports, HDMI, front SD card slot, Thread 1.4 radio, Zigbee 3.0 and Bluetooth, 4 microphone cluster, 2 5W speakers and a front touch screen. The operating system is UGOS Pro, supports EXT4 and Btrfs, 2 main trays can run Basic, JBOD, RAID 0 and RAID 1. I read that there is no 10GiE, which is a bit limited, local running 2.5GiE is a bit boring.

There is one point you need to look carefully at before spending money: the capacity figure. UGREEN's campaign page is advertising "up to 96TB", but the spec sheet in TechRadar's hands-on article says 68TB, including 2 30TB SATA drives and 1 8TB M.2 drive, while the third SATA tray is identified as the surveillance tray. In other words, the HA100 does not have the usual 3 data bays, so it cannot default to a three-drive RAID 5 like on a traditional NAS. The monitoring tray is a separate pool, while the 2 main trays only run RAID 0 or RAID 1.

The new local AI part is the main reason to buy this machine. According to UGREEN, AI running right in the home can recognize people, vehicles, pets and packages, create event summaries, retrieve footage by keywords and issue alerts without defaulting to cloud processing. The system's Uliya assistant receives voice questions via a hub, compatible camera or UGREEN smart speaker. On the demo version for reviewers, the basic assistant layer runs on the local Qwen 3.5 4B model, while the individual recognition components that track people, pets or parcels are pre-selected. Regarding smart homes, UGREEN said HomeAgent works with its SynCare cameras and compatible Matter, Radio Thread and Zigbee devices already in the machine.

TechRadar's article notes that the new Smart Home trial app mainly supports UGREEN accessories and Matter items, while old devices without Matter pairing codes are not easy to put into the system. If your family is using a lot of Philips Hue, Tapo, Smart Life, Google Home or Amazon Alexa items, you should check each item individually before ordering.
