The first X-ray image of humans in space
In 1895, while experimenting with cathode rays, German physics professor Wilhelm Rontgen accidentally discovered X-rays. Realizing that this technology could benefit the medical field, Rontgen took the first X-ray picture of the human body. That is the image of his wife's hand wearing the ring.

During the three-and-a-half-day space journey, Wang and three teammates performed a total of 22 experiments, including observing the Earth's poles, growing mushrooms and taking the first X-ray images of humans in orbit. This pioneering experiment aims to confirm the feasibility of obtaining high-quality diagnostic X-ray images in microgravity conditions, an important step in ensuring the health of astronauts on deep space missions.

After successfully X-raying the hand, they continued to test the technology with a series of other diagnostic images including the forearm, pelvis, abdomen and chest. The crew also imaged the electronics to test the possibility of using X-rays as a hardware diagnostic tool. The crew also performed a DXA (dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry) scan.
The Crew Dragon ship carrying the Fram2 crew landed by parachute in the Pacific Ocean, specifically off the coast of Oceanside, California, USA, on April 4. The astronauts were launched aboard SpaceX's Dragon Shannon, then to NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston to complete some testing and collect post-flight biometric data, while recovering from their time in microgravity.
