The inspection and replacement program is carried out completely free of charge at genuine dealers. According to VAMA, the error lies in the inflator assembly of the Takata airbag. After many years of use, moisture can penetrate, causing the air pump assembly to be at risk of cracking when the air bag activates in a collision.
