Apple started increasing iPhone prices

(Dan Tri) - Apple has just increased the prices of a series of iPhone models in the Japanese market. Many users are worried that this could be the beginning of an upcoming price increase in many other countries.

"We have never seen component prices increase so much and so quickly. We have tried to protect our customers from price increases. However, the time has come for us to start increasing prices on some products, including iPad and Mac. We know this is not good news and we are working hard to find a solution," Apple said.

To date, Apple continues to increase prices for iPhones. A series of devices such as iPhone 16, iPhone 17e, iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max have been adjusted to increase by 8-11%. However, this move currently only happens in the Japanese market.

According to MacRumors, Apple still maintains the iPhone's selling price in the US and many other countries. However, the above fluctuation makes many users think that this could be the beginning of Apple's upcoming price increase in many other markets.

Talking to Dan Tri reporter, a representative of an Apple authorized retail system (AAR) in Vietnam said that the company has not yet made any announcements about adjusting the selling price of iPhones in general and the iPhone 17 product line in particular.

"Up to now, Apple has not made any changes in pricing policy for the iPhone industry. In fact, the prices of iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro Max have remained high since launch. This also reflects part of Apple's strategy in the context of escalating component costs today," he added.

Meanwhile, Apple has just increased the price for its iCloud+ cloud storage service in the Vietnamese market from July 17. This is the first time Apple has increased the price of this service in Vietnam since mid-2023, and is part of an adjustment taking place in 8 countries around the world.

Among them, the 50GB package increased the most, from 19,000 VND to 25,000 VND/month, equivalent to 31.58%. 200GB package increased from 69,000 VND to 89,000 VND/month, equivalent to 28.99%.

The remaining three large capacity packages all increased by about 20%. Specifically, the 2TB package increased from 249,000 VND to 299,000 VND/month; 6TB package increased from 749,000 VND to 899,000 VND/month; and the 12TB package increased from 1,499,000 VND to 1,799,000 VND/month.

Apple has not given a specific reason for this adjustment, making many users wonder. The biggest concern is whether this is just a single adjustment or will be the beginning of further price increases in the future.
