(Dan Tri) - Apple is said to be developing a smart camera, but it does not have a video recording function like regular cameras.

According to technology reporter Mark Gurman, who often shares accurate information about Apple's upcoming products, "Apple" will launch a smart home control center device next month. This product will come with a smart security camera, focused on privacy protection functions.

The highlight of the smart camera model designed by Apple is that the product does not have the function of recording or transmitting images like conventional cameras. The device will act as a sensor, using artificial intelligence to record the surrounding environment and report to the user any abnormalities that the device detects.

This device, internally codenamed J450, is said to use a low frame rate camera, combined with facial recognition AI technology and infrared sensors to recognize people and pets in the house.

Instead of capturing images or providing a live video stream, the device provides users with information about activities in the home and uses the collected data to enable automation features.

For example, when the J450 detects someone entering or leaving a room, the device will automatically turn on or off the lights when the room is empty, or adjust music playback in areas where people are present.

The fact that the security camera does not have a video or audio recording function will help increase security to the maximum level, avoiding the case of the camera being attacked by hackers and silently recording content without the user knowing.

Mark Gurman said Apple's smart camera will have a compact cylindrical design, like a metal lip balm and be easy to install anywhere.

This smart camera will be part of Apple's efforts to expand the smart home ecosystem. In addition to the J450, Apple is said to be developing the HomePad, Apple's first smart home control screen, the 2nd generation HomePod mini AI-integrated smart speaker, and the 4th generation Apple TV 4K.

Sources say that Apple's series of smart home products will likely be launched on October 13. These products will help Apple increase revenue in other areas, instead of depending on the iPhone as currently.
