Apple leaves a gap in the Vietnamese mobile market

(Dan Tri) - Recently, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 duo have gradually disappeared from genuine store shelves. This marks a major change in Apple's product distribution strategy in Vietnam.
Apple's discontinuation of these models has left a significant gap in the mid-range mobile segment. This is the segment where older iPhone models always dominate thanks to their accessible prices and sustainable brand value.

Currently, the price segment under 15 million VND does not have the presence of any genuine iPhone models. This unintentionally creates conditions for Android phones to monopolize sales of the mid-range segment.
Talking to Dan Tri reporters, representatives of many retail systems said that Apple's discontinuation of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 product lines did not have much impact on the overall sales of the iPhone industry.
"Recorded reality shows that sales of the iPhone industry are not much affected when stopping sales of iPhone 13 and iPhone 14. Users adapt relatively quickly to the product strategy from the company, and switch to choosing newer devices such as iPhone 15 or iPhone 16", representative of Minh Tuan Mobile shared.
Sharing the same opinion, Hoang Ha Mobile representative said that users currently tend to focus on new product lines, especially the iPhone 17 generation. Therefore, when the iPhone 13 and 14 lines are no longer on store shelves, purchasing power has quickly focused on the standard versions of the next generations.
"Overall sales fluctuated insignificantly because customer demand for the iPhone 17 series is currently quite high. This helps offset most of the shortfall in sales from older devices," this unit revealed.

Also according to statistics from dealers, iPhone 15 and iPhone 17e are becoming the leading alternatives at this time. These are all compact products, capable of meeting the needs of both customers who prioritize stability and those who want to experience new technology.
"Instead of continuing to choose models that have been released for many years, users tend to consider new devices with longer software support, better performance and the ability to adapt to new technologies for many years to come.
Therefore, the withdrawal of iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 from the market does not create a significant decrease in sales of the entire iPhone industry," said Ms. Van Thi Ngoc Yen, deputy industry director at Di Dong Viet, commented.
It can be seen that although Apple has left a gap in the mid-range segment, the company is still successful in orienting users to upgrade to a higher segment. Experts believe that this could be Apple's new business direction in Vietnam, helping the company both optimize production operations and better support users.
