Apple explains the reason for increasing product prices

Today, I received news that Apple increased the price of a series of products from Mac, iPad to Apple TV, HomePod and even Vision Pro glasses, which made me feel a bit confused. Increases range from $30 for the HomePod mini, to as high as $1,300 for the Mac Studio. Luckily, the iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods temporarily remain at the same price, with no movement yet. The reason explained by Apple is due to the global scarcity of RAM and SSD memory chips, a consequence of technology companies rushing to build data centers running AI servers too quickly. I see that this time it's not just Apple that's suffering, Microsoft, Samsung, Lenovo, Dell or HP all have to increase product prices for the same reason.

Tim Cook last week also had to admit that this price increase was "inevitable". Apple said they have been trying to shoulder the costs to protect users for a long time, but they probably can't bear it now. The company's use of the word "starting to increase prices" makes me worry that there may be another increase in the near future, even though they also say they are trying to find solutions to bring prices down again. Unfortunately, supplier Micron predicts that this shortage will last until 2027, meaning we will have to live with the price storm for at least another year and a half. Those of you who are thinking about buying a Mac or iPad should consider it soon.
