Three expected improvements on iPhone Air 2

According to account yeux1122, one of the reputable news sources on Naver (Korea), iPhone Air 2 will be about 0.4 mm thinner than the current iPhone Air, that is, reaching 5.2 mm.

Thanks to that, Air 2 will become one of the thinnest bar-shaped smartphones on the market, equivalent to the iPhone Duo folding screen phone when fully opened. For comparison, regular smartphones like the standard iPhone 17 are nearly 8 mm thick.

The first generation of iPhone Air did not meet sales expectations due to its high price (over 30 million VND), while the configuration was considered inadequate, such as the battery capacity of only 3,149 mAh and equipped with a single camera.

In the second generation, Apple is expected to completely solve these two weaknesses. Despite its thinner design, Air 2 can use a battery capacity of at least 3,500 mAh, an increase of 11% compared to its predecessor.

In addition, the new phone will integrate a super wide-angle lens, better meeting the group and landscape photography needs of most users.

With the addition of a second camera and improved battery life, iPhone Air 2 is expected to increase its competitiveness when officially launched in spring 2027, along with the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e.

iPhone Air was released on September 9, 2025. To achieve a thickness of 5.6 mm and have more space for the battery, the device removes the physical SIM tray, only supporting eSim. This is also the version with the lowest battery capacity in the series of Apple phones launched last year, when the iPhone 17 is equipped with a 3,692 mAh battery, while the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max reach 4,252 and 5,088 mAh respectively.
