The Dahaize mine's success is the result of a bet on an automation revolution that was so bold and technically challenging that skeptics said it was an impossible plan, according to Liang Yunfeng, the mine's chief executive officer and leader of the reform. Even at Dahaize, management faced resistance from workers, many of whom were not ready for AI supervision. But now, the workers have changed their minds. "Switching to smart operations not only makes work safer, less labor-intensive and more productive, but changes the entire system," Liang said.
