Accordingly, the folding iPhone will have a screen of about 7.8 inches when opened. This size is equivalent to the screen on the iPad mini model. The selfie camera will be placed in the upper left corner of the screen.

Meanwhile, the device's external screen is 5.5 inches in size. This screen has a shorter and more square ratio than current iPhones. This design is similar to the design of a passport.

Previously leaked information confirmed that the device will not support the Face ID facial recognition system. Instead, the device integrates Touch ID fingerprint recognition through the side button to unlock the device and use Apple Pay.

According to Bloomberg, the folding screen iPhone will offer two basic color options: black and white. However, leaker Sonny Dickson believes that Apple will only provide white color options for this model.

The folding screen iPhone is expected to have 3D printed hinges to help minimize folds on the folding screen. This technology is similar to the technology being applied on the OPPO Find N6 model.

OPPO has equipped the Find N6 with a 2nd generation Titanium alloy curved hinge, applying 3D printing technology in liquid conditions. The production process uses a highly accurate laser scanning system to detect the smallest deviations on component surfaces.

The effectiveness of the above process is relatively high when OPPO products have almost completely eliminated folds on the screen. The fact that the folding screen iPhone also applies this technology promises to bring a similar experience.

Recent reports say that the first folding screen iPhone will go on sale in December, 3 months later than the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max product lines.

A similar situation happened in 2017. Apple announced iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in September 2017 and went on sale 2 weeks later. Meanwhile, it won't be until November that the iPhone Twitter product line hits shelves.

The reason for the late launch may come from the product's production capacity, which caused limited supply in the beginning. Delaying the launch time helps Apple distribute devices better.
