Worth mentioning, these calls have a very short ringing time, about 3 seconds. The phone only displayed a missed call notification and people didn't have time to answer the phone. The above situation is repeated many times, causing confusion and anxiety.

The Police Department warns that the above "flashing" trick is intended to review and authenticate user data. When the user answers the phone or calls back, the system will record the active phone number.

Some fraud groups also use voice analysis technology to infer gender, age, and level of alertness, thereby classifying victims. Screened data can be sold to third parties or serve targeted fraud scenarios.

More sophisticated, scammers can record users' voices if they answer the phone or call back. From there, crooks will use artificial intelligence tools to copy this voice, create fake content to make fraudulent calls, and appropriate other people's property.

Additionally, scammers may sign up for the call center's service so that the phone number they make missed calls from is the service call center's number. When users call this phone number again, they will be charged a very high service fee. The money collected from this call will be shared between the network operator and the companies that own and operate this number.

Fraudsters will even find ways to prolong the victim's call by using an automatic answering system to ask users to follow if they want to connect to the other end of the line.

Khanh Hung Commune Police recommend that people should not call back strange numbers, especially numbers with a "+" sign, and should proactively block and report these numbers through the network operator. "Every citizen should proactively raise awareness, educate relatives and friends to prevent phone scams, and contribute to protecting their own assets and personal information," the police recommended.
