ChatGPT, Claude and Grok experience global issues

(Dan Tri) - ChatGPT, Claude and Grok simultaneously encountered widespread problems on the web version, mobile applications and computers. The incident took place at the right time when rumors appeared that OpenAI was preparing to launch a new AI model.

On the evening of September 3, many users around the world reported a widespread service disruption, directly affecting a series of major artificial intelligence platforms such as ChatGPT (including Codex), Claude and Grok.

Recordings from technology site 9to5Mac show that the problem prevents users from accessing or using ChatGPT on all platforms, from web versions, mobile applications to computer applications.

At the same time, Anthropic's AI service Claude also fell into the same situation. xAI representatives also confirmed that the Grok tool is experiencing system problems.

Notably, this mass shutdown took place right before rumors appeared that OpenAI was about to announce the next generation AI model called Astra. This coincidence makes the technology community question whether this is just a simple technical problem or a hidden preparation step by the developer for a major product launch.
