Quick sharing about Oppo Find X9 Ultra: Beautiful back, easy-to-use OS

Today I want to share some quick impressions about the Oppo Find X9 Ultra. I borrowed this machine from Mr. Cuhiep and have been using it for about 4 to 5 days so far. Although the time is not too long to give in-depth reviews, it is enough for me to have first impressions and realize a few good points as well as things I don't really like about this device.

The back is beautiful, feels good to hold

The first thing that caught my eye and what I had the best impression of on this phone was the back design. When looking at it, the back of the device is divided into two quite clear segments. The upper half is the area containing the very large camera cluster with the Hasselblad logo, while the lower half is an empty space with the Oppo logo.

Regarding materials, the version I hold in my hand uses a faux leather back (I guess). Personally, I'm someone who doesn't like glass backs on mobile phones. Up to now, every time I buy a phone with a glass back, the first thing I do is usually apply leather to increase grip. The glass back always makes me feel slippery and unsafe when holding it bare. Therefore, the fact that Oppo Find X9 Ultra is equipped with a faux leather back is a big plus for your usage habits. It provides a very good grip, is soft to the touch and does not leave fingerprints.

Of course, the device has quite a weight, holding it feels a bit heavier in the hand compared to the Galaxy S26 Ultra that I usually use. However, the winning point is how Oppo distributes the weight. With such a large and thick camera cluster, it is often difficult for companies to balance the device. I used to use the Vivo On the Oppo Find X9 Ultra, the weight is spread more evenly, providing a more secure and confident grip.

The software interface bears many similarities to iOS

Regarding the display screen, I have nothing to complain about. It is a phone with a beautiful, clear screen, good enough to serve needs from viewing content to daily touching. However, the point that attracts me more attention is the operating system. The ColorOS interface on this device gives me a familiar feeling, and that familiarity comes from the fact that it is very similar to iOS on iPhones. If you look at the way they designed the volume control bar, the interface of the music player, the way the application icons are curved, to the way the items are arranged inside the settings, all are strongly reminiscent of Apple's operating system. Even the way they arrange widgets on the home screen also has a bit of an iOS feel.

This may cause many mixed opinions, but from a practical user perspective, I see it as an advantage for those who are using iPhone and want to try switching to Oppo. The similarity in the interface makes getting used to it quicker, you hardly have to waste time relearning how to use it or looking for basic settings.

Experience images and how the machine processes colors

Regarding the camera, I must confirm in advance that I am not a professional photographer, so the comments below are completely based on my personal perspective and aesthetic taste.

In addition, the machine's algorithm seems to favor warm tones, so the leaves are often covered in a slightly yellowish color. Personally, I like photos with cooler and more neutral tones, so this treatment doesn't really suit me.

In return, when switching to portrait photography with Hasselblad color filters, the machine did very well. Photos of people produce bright colors, the skin is processed smooth and bright but not fake. Previously, when I used the Xiaomi 17 Ultra to take portraits, the camera often pushed the contrast very high, causing the human skin to darken and the overall photo to look quite heavy.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra solves this problem, the photos are flattering and can be used to post on social networks immediately. In addition, the nature of the original image of the device is quite neutral, not too bright, so when I put it into post-production software like Lightroom for further editing, I have a lot of space to drag the colors as I want.

The physical buttons are a bit much, I don't really like them

If I had to point out the one thing that annoys me the most on the Oppo Find X9 Ultra in recent days, it would be the physical button system located on the bezel. I am a person who likes simplicity and I appreciate the design of few buttons on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, with only the power button and volume up and down keys on one side.

On this Oppo, in addition to the basic keys, there are a number of other buttons, including a function key and a camera control button. In total, there are 4 or 5 different buttons on the bezel. Having too many buttons not only makes the border less seamless but also causes inconvenience in daily operations. This is just my personal opinion, it's normal for anyone who doesn't stress too much about buttons.

When I pick up the device to use it or put it in my pocket, my finger often mistakenly touches the function key on the left. Sometimes when holding it, you have to be careful and pay attention to where your fingers are placed to avoid accidentally pressing. In my opinion, adding too many physical buttons can create more convenience when using functions but also make the device feel less seamless.

Performance for carefree daily use

In terms of performance, my basic daily tasks mainly revolve around using social networks such as surfing Facebook, viewing news on Twitter, texting via Messenger or surfing Instagram. For these applications, the device handles extremely smoothly, has fast response speed and almost no lag or frame freezes.

However, I encountered a small but quite annoying problem when using the YouTube app. Occasionally, the YouTube interface on the device has display errors, components are misaligned or displayed incorrectly. I don't know if this is an error due to the optimization of the YouTube application for this model, or an error from Oppo's operating system, but hopefully it will be fixed in upcoming software updates, and it's not a big error.

Those are all my quick shares and initial feelings about the Oppo Find X9 Ultra after a few days of getting acquainted. A device with a back design that feels very good to hold, a stable portrait camera cluster, an easy-to-use interface but makes me a bit uncomfortable because of the cumbersome physical button system. I will continue to use this device longer, taking it with me on upcoming business or travel trips to see how it actually works in many different conditions. See you in a more detailed post after about 2 to 3 months.
