Apple's fastest depreciating iPhone in the past year

According to a report from market research company Counterpoint Research, iPhone 17 was the best-selling smartphone model in the world in the second quarter. The next positions belong to iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro respectively.

Even a product launched 2 years ago, the iPhone 16, also appeared on this list at number 10. Meanwhile, the iPhone Air - a model announced at the same time as the iPhone 17 product line - did not appear in the rankings at all.
iPhone Air is considered a big bet that Apple has made in the past year. This product line has a completely new design and is completely different from the devices that the company has developed for nearly a decade.
However, the iPhone Air was not well received by users. Many leaked sources even said that Apple has temporarily suspended the iPhone Air 2 development plan because the device's sales did not meet expectations.
In the Vietnamese market, iPhone Air also does not receive the attention of users. This is also Apple's fastest and strongest product line with discounts in the past year.
Specifically, iPhone Air is being offered by dealers at a price of 23 million VND for the 256GB version. The current price is 9 million VND lower, equivalent to a 28% reduction compared to the listed price at the time of launch. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro versions only have an adjustment of about 2-6% in selling price throughout their life cycle.
"iPhone Air is the model with the lowest sales among the entire iPhone product line launched in 2025. The device accounts for about 5% of the total iPhone 2025 sold in the system. However, the product still has a separate group of customers thanks to the advantage of thin and light design," Mr. Nguyen Lac Huy, CellphoneS media representative, shared.

The same thing is also recorded in many other large systems. Ms. Van Thi Ngoc Yen, Apple product manager at Mobile Vietnam, said that sales of iPhone Air are significantly lower than versions such as iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
After many price adjustments, iPhone Air now competes directly with iPhone 17 - which is a product positioned in the lower segment. Worth mentioning, iPhone 17 is still of more interest to many users.
