Vietnamese AI expert left Google to found a startup

(Dan Tri) - In a latest post on Twitter, Dr. Le Viet Quoc announced that he has left Google. At the same time, he and some former colleagues founded the AI ​​startup Discovery Loop.

Dr. Le Viet Quoc is one of the most mentioned names in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. His name is associated with famous Google projects on AI such as Google Translate, Google Search or Google Brain.

"Very excited to co-found Discovery Loop with longtime collaborators Jeff Dean, Sanjay Ghemawat and Oriol Vinyals. Our mission is to automate machine learning, engineering and science," Dr. Quoc shared on Twitter.

Discovery Loop aims to create AI systems that can improve themselves with little or no human intervention. This process is expected to significantly promote the development of AI, thereby promoting new scientific achievements.

According to TechCrunch, the company has received financial backing from multiple sources, including Alphabet. Jeff Dean is expected to take on the role of CEO. The founding members are all major researchers, including three of the most cited researchers in the field of artificial intelligence.

Le Viet Quoc is one of the world's leading computer scientists in the fields of AI and deep learning. He studied abroad in Australia since 2004, then received his PhD at Stanford University (USA) under the guidance of professor Andrew Ng.

In 2014, Mr. Le Viet Quoc was honored by MIT's Technology Review Magazine as one of the world's best inventors under 35 years old. His research also received a series of awards at international conferences on artificial intelligence and was featured in the New York Times.
