Daughter of Jensen Huang - Nvidia's rising star

The 63-year-old leader has two children, including daughter Madison and son Spencer, both working at Nvidia. He has not yet chosen a successor for the group.

From chef to director of robotics

Madison and Spencer are the result of a 5-year relationship between Mr. Jensen Huang and Ms. Lori Mills when they both met at Oregon State University (USA), according to information on the Ohio State University website. The couple studied engineering together and collaborated in the lab.

Madison's personal information has not yet been publicly detailed, other than the fact that she was "born around 1990". After high school, she initially planned to study electrical engineering but switched to the culinary field on her father's advice. In 2012, Madison graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration majoring in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America. In 2015, Madison went to Paris and joined the luxury fashion industry. She worked at LVMH as director of marketing and product development. During her four years there, she also completed a short course in data science at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

In 2019, Madison and her brother Spencer attended a short-term course on AI at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). According to Storyboard18, this move is considered an important turning point in both of their careers. Similar to his sister, Spencer also studied culinary and once founded a company in Taiwan specializing in mixing and selling unique cocktail recipes. The younger brother continues to study the MBA program at London Business School.

Unlike the children of leaders who often have high positions right after entering their parents' company, both came to Nvidia as interns. Madison joined Nvidia's marketing department in 2020, then was officially hired in the summer of the same year. The older brother joined later, in 2022.

At Nvidia, Madison quickly rose through the ranks. According to Livemint, at the end of 2020, she was transferred to the Omniverse and Robotics department, overseeing product marketing activities for 3D design and simulation software. After that, she continued to hold the position of senior product marketing manager of the department.

By 2024, she would officially join her father and brother in an event, when all three attended Computex 2024 in Taiwan. A year later, she appeared as a representative of Nvidia, with Xie Chen, CEO of Guanglun Intelligence, and Mustafa, Head of Development of Guanglun Intelligence, discussing the topic "How robots bridge the gap between the virtual and real world".

Nvidia's "new factor".

When taking on responsibilities at Omniverse and Robotics, Madison Huang showed that she is worthy and not just "the child of a father". Although it is a much smaller business than chips and data centers, Jensen Huang has repeatedly emphasized its importance, believing that simulating the physical world will be extremely powerful, helping to open a new wave of AI for robotics, manufacturing and automobiles.

"On the outside, many people think bringing Madison into the Omniverse is a way for Jensen to keep her out of the public eye. However, based on performance, we know he trusts his daughter and wants her to develop Nvidia beyond the core business," an Nvidia employee told The Information.

Some Nvidia employees said that at the company, Madison is more prominent and influential than his brother. In March 2025, she was promoted to senior director, standing under the position of Vice President - who directly reports to Jensen Huang. Nvidia's filing with the SEC shows that her salary increased from $160,000 per year in 2021 to more than $1 million last year.

"He is similar to Jensen in terms of working style, often sitting for long hours in his room and always responding to emails within a few minutes," Dessi Vatcheva, Madison's former classmate, wrote on LinkedIn. "He doesn't want to be considered unworthy of what he has."

According to a former Nvidia employee who worked with Madison, she deeply cared about the company's business. Even when she wasn't responsible for Omniverse and Robots' sales goals, she sometimes contacted sales staff and asked about their progress.

"While Madison is undeniably the daughter of Jensen Huang, the bottom line is that she is extremely hard-working, excels in her profession, and has a deep love for the company," Greg Estes, former vice president of Nvidia, told the WSJ last year.

SCMP assessed that, with positive comments about Madison, her father's similar working style and her increasing frequency of appearances, it is likely that the founder of Nvidia is planning for his daughter to take over his empire of more than 5,000 billion USD. However, this is just speculation because he has not yet announced a successor.

According to The Information, at a meeting with employees in early 2025, Jensen Huang received a question related to "nepotism" at Nvidia. In response, he admitted that the company actually encouraged the employment of employees' children and was "not bothered" by this.

"I believe those parents do not sponsor their children unless they are sure their children will not embarrass them. Furthermore, many second-generation Nvidia employees are working more effectively than their parents," Nvidia CEO said with a smile.
