Auction number 095 starts from 2.5 billion VND

(Dan Tri) - The Ministry of Science and Technology has just announced the organization of an auction for the right to use mobile network code 95, also known as mobile number 095, once associated with the SFone network.

This is an important move to help effectively exploit the telecommunications number warehouse that has been vacant since SFone ceased operations in 2016. The auction will take place online on the information page of Vietnam Partnership Auction Company on the morning of July 10.

The starting price for this mobile network code is set at 2.5 billion VND. The price step for each bid is 250 million VND. To participate in the race to own this number, units need to pay a deposit of 500 million VND.

Subjects allowed to participate in the auction are organizations or businesses established under Vietnamese law, and must meet strict conditions for licenses to provide mobile telecommunications services or virtual mobile telecommunications network services.

In addition, participating units must also prove that they have fulfilled all financial obligations related to telecommunications and radio frequencies before the auction takes place. This is a mandatory requirement to ensure the capacity and responsibility of businesses for national resources.

After a successful auction and network code allocation, the winning bidder must make a written commitment to put the 095 number into operation and actual use within a maximum of 6 months.

According to the Department of Telecommunications, organizing the auction not only helps meet the needs of businesses and people to use digital warehouses, but also contributes a significant source of revenue to the State budget.
