Go see OPPO launch the Reno16 Series with the unique Bubble secondary screen accessory

Yesterday I just went to see the OPPO event launching the Reno16 Series 5G in the Vietnamese market with three versions including Reno16 Pro 5G, Reno16 5G and Reno16 F 5G. As always, Son Tung M-TP continues to accompany this product line as a brand ambassador, this time with the additional appearance of singers Orange and UPRIZE PN to increase youthfulness. After taking a look at the technical specifications and accompanying features, I see that this year's Reno generation is not simply a periodic configuration upgrade, but OPPO really wants to turn this device into a very specific content creation device for young people.

3D Planet design and realistic screen tweaks

The first point that caught my attention in this product line is the new design language called Planet 3D, applied specifically to the white version. According to information from the company, they use HoloVerse 3D technology made up of millions of micro-lenses to create the effect of light floating blocks sparkling like a miniature galaxy right on the back.

In terms of display, I see that OPPO has gone big by equipping an LTPS AMOLED screen with a scan frequency of up to 144Hz for all three versions. This is a very impressive number because this high scanning frequency usually only appears on specialized gaming machines.

One point I find quite interesting is that the Reno16 5G and Reno16 Pro duo have a quite compact screen size of only 6.32 inches combined with an aluminum frame, very suitable for those who like to use the device with one hand like me.

The Pro and regular versions have a maximum brightness of up to 1,800 nits for clear display in sunlight, while the F version has a larger entertainment screen with a size of 6.57 inches with FHD + resolution. All three devices have PWM 3840Hz eye protection technology and meet very high water and dust resistance standards such as IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K with touch feature when hands are wet, oily or wearing gloves.

Powerful upgraded camera system and nostalgic Pop Orange color filter

OPPO still maintains the camera focus for the Reno series and this time the hardware system is invested quite evenly. What I like most is that all 3 versions are equipped with a 3.5x Tele portrait camera using a 50MP sensor with an 85mm golden portrait focal length to help take clear distance shots and create compositions with depth.

The front selfie camera is also up to 50MP with a super wide angle of 100 degrees for unobstructed group shots. The regular and F versions have a main camera with integrated OIS and a 50MP super wide-angle camera. The Pro version is favored to upgrade the main sensor up to 200MP to help you comfortably crop images in post-production.

In terms of software, OPPO appeals to young people's preference for nostalgic style with the POP Cam feature with color filters that simulate the image quality of Y2K digital cameras, instant film or artistic open-light effects. This built-in integration helps users immediately have vintage photos to post on social networks without having to download additional third-party applications.

The post-production experience is also more fun with the AI Creative Collage feature that automatically separates the background to create animated stickers from photos or short videos up to 6 seconds long. The Popout 2.0 feature has also been upgraded so that subjects stand out outside the frame in many directions with the ability to intelligently identify everything from architecture to objects. Movie recording also has next-generation image stabilization thanks to 4K Video Automatic frame balancing and Dual Display 2.0 Video mode with flexible lens switching.

Smart ColorOS 16 with AI Snap Key physical key appears for the first time

The ColorOS 16 operating system on this generation is AI-centered with many practical support tools. The most unique point about the supporting hardware is the appearance of the AI Snap Key physical button. This button acts as a shortcut for you to quickly access mMind Space to store and organize data with just a screenshot or swipe.

In this space, the AI Bill Management feature will automatically classify paper receipts or electronic invoices into spending reports, while AI Mind Pilot will suggest the right AI model for the job or compare answers side by side for you to choose from. When traveling, the AI Menu Translate feature automatically displays illustrations and visual explanations of local dishes which is quite convenient.

Stable configuration, huge battery and unique accessory OPPO Bubble

Regarding hardware configuration, OPPO is equipped with Dimensity 8550 Super chip for the Pro version, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 for the regular version and Dimensity 7300 for the F version, with flexible RAM and ROM options such as 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory.

One point I was extremely surprised by is that this year's battery capacity is very large, the Pro and regular versions have 6,700mAh batteries and the F version has up to 7,000mAh, both supporting SuperVOOC 80W fast charging for an uninterrupted experience. The dual speaker system supports 300% Super Volume mode and three-dimensional sound technology for a better entertainment experience. The device also integrates AI LinkBoost 4.0 technology to keep the signal stable in crowded places.

Besides the phone, a unique magnetic accessory called OPPO Bubble with a retail price of 2,490,000 VND also makes me very excited. This unit only weighs about 27.5 grams, magnetically attaches to the back of the device and has a 1.73 inch AMOLED screen.

It acts as a secondary screen displaying the viewfinder from the rear camera so you can self-align when taking selfies with the main camera, or as a remote control device for shooting up to 10 meters away. You can also attach the strap as a fashion accessory and customize the interface to display dynamic effects and text according to your preferences.

In short…

Holding it directly, I realized that this year's OPPO Reno16 Series 5G generation brings a more practical and in-depth experience for young users like me, like there are more exploits to serve the needs of virtual living.

I see that the Reno 16 Series is clearly a very valuable upgrade for those who are looking for a neat smartphone, strong battery and well optimized for daily creative photography and video recording needs. Which version or feature are you most impressed with? Please comment...
