Weekly point: Facebook crashes, AI 18+ movies spread on social networks

(Dan Tri) - Outstanding technology information last week included Facebook having problems globally, AI 18+ movies spreading on social networks, and Qualcomm launching a new chip.
Facebook has a problem
Around 8:00 a.m. on September 21, many Facebook users in Vietnam reported that they were having trouble accessing Facebook. As noted by Dan Tri reporter, this problem appears when users access Facebook on the web platform. Meanwhile, the Facebook and Messenger applications on the phone still work normally.

When accessing Facebook on the web platform, the website does not display any content other than the Facebook logo and Meta.
Statistics from the social network health monitoring site Downdetector show that more than 15,000 users also reported similar errors. Incidents were reported in many different regions around the globe. By 8:50 a.m., the problem began to be fixed.
PUBG is boycotted in Vietnam
The wave of protest against PUBG broke out after KRAFTON permanently banned two Vietnamese players, Himass and TanVuu, for using information from their opponents' livestreams.
This decision caused many gamers, streamers and esports clubs to announce the deletion of the game or stop activities related to PUBG. The controversy continues to attract attention as PUBG PC has not been officially licensed for release in Vietnam, while the community asks many questions about how KRAFTON handled the incident.
AI 18+ movies are all over social networks
Videos created by AI with sensitive images and details suddenly appear while surfing social networks, causing many users to fall into awkward situations.

AI movie ads with 18+ elements appear more often after a period of watching and interacting with AI movie content on social networks (Screenshot).
From ads appearing on social networks, viewers are directed to applications that provide a series of short films created by AI with many different topics, including many content with sexual elements.
Some services only require users to create or log in to an account to continue viewing, without the step of verifying the actual age of the visitor. This means that a link from an ad appearing publicly on a social network can take users to sensitive content without encountering an obvious age-check "fence".

Paradoxical price of iPhone Air is cheaper than iPhone 15
On Apple's online store, the price of iPhone Air 256GB version increased by 3 million VND compared to before, to 35 million VND. However, at many retail systems, iPhone Air is still sold at a price of 23 million VND for the 256GB version and 29 million VND for the 512GB version.

Meanwhile, iPhone 15 is no longer sold by Apple on its official website in the Vietnamese market. However, this product is still sold through the company's authorized dealers.
The price of iPhone 15 is also adjusted up according to Apple's general policy. Specifically, iPhone 15 is being offered by dealers at a price of 22 million VND for the 128GB version, an increase of 4 million VND compared to before. The 256GB version also increased to 25 million VND.
It can be seen that, considering the same 256GB memory version, the price of iPhone Air is even cheaper than iPhone 15. Worth mentioning, iPhone Air is inherently a product line positioned in the high-end segment and has only been launched for a year.
