Weekly point: Foldable iPhone revealed, Vietnam has a new mobile network

(Dan Tri) - Outstanding technology information last week included Vietnam having a new mobile network, the folding iPhone being revealed, and the tablet market facing difficulties.
Add new mobile network in Vietnam
In the official announcement, Vietnam Post Corporation (Vietnam Post) said that the company is taking steps to participate in the mobile telecommunications field under the mobile virtual network (MVNO) model.

Vietnam Post selected Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) as its infrastructure partner. According to the virtual mobile network (MVNO) model, Vietnam Post will develop brands, products, distribution systems and customer care activities based on exploiting VNPT's telecommunications infrastructure.
This approach helps Vietnam Post take advantage of existing infrastructure, shorten deployment time, optimize investment resources and focus more on factors that create direct value for customers. In the first step of entering the market, Vietnam Post introduced the SIM Pottel brand. Currently, this network has not announced the number.
Foldable iPhone revealed
In a post on the social network Twitter, the Ice Universe account shared some images of screen protectors for foldable iPhones. This image confirms the asymmetrical design on the outer screen of the folding iPhone.

The screen protector is said to be from a folding iPhone (Photo: Ice Universe).
Accordingly, the two corners on the left edge of the hinge area will be beveled flat and square. The screen on the right edge will be curved at both the top and bottom corners. This design matches the leaked information about Apple's first folding screen iPhone in many months. At the same time, the screen protector also shows the proportions and shape of the secondary screen on the outside.
This sticker also has a perforated section in the upper left corner. Most likely, this is the location of the selfie camera. It is expected that the folding iPhone will integrate Touch ID fingerprint sensor security instead of the Face ID facial recognition system. Therefore, the front camera area is only relatively small in size.
The tablet market is in trouble
According to a report from Omdia, the global tablet market has entered a period of decline. The number of tablets shipped in the second quarter decreased by 10% compared to the same period last year, to 36 million units.

This goes against the annual back-to-school shopping trend. This is also the first time in many years that tablet shipments decreased in the second quarter.
Himani Mukka, a research expert at Omdia, said it is difficult for manufacturers to increase tablet production in the context of the current supply of components becoming increasingly scarce. Accordingly, the optimal strategy is to focus resources on products in the high-end segment.
Ad blockers give in to Facebook
In a post on the Reddit platform, the uBlock Origin ad blocker development team has just announced that they will stop supporting ad filtering on Facebook. A representative of the uBlock Origin development team also criticized Facebook as an anti-user platform.

To bypass advertising filters, Facebook has applied many different tricks. For example, Facebook will break up the text "Sponsored" into letters scattered across many separate lines of code, shuffle the order of appearance, and insert fake characters in between.
The purpose of this move is to confuse the identification tools of ad blocking utilities like uBlock Origin. From there, updating filters becomes a never-ending race between developers.

Windows laptop prices are about to increase
In the context of the supply of RAM and memory chips becoming increasingly scarce, computer prices have continuously increased for nearly a year. This condition may get worse.

According to Wccftech, Microsoft has begun increasing Windows operating system licensing fees for computer manufacturers (OEMs) from 7% to 10% since July.
In fact, Microsoft still adjusts Windows 11 license prices every year. Therefore, this is not a new or surprising move. However, this increase is up to double digits and is considered unusual. Some sources even believe that this has begun to affect the selling price of some laptop models on the market.

The device's rear camera system includes a 200MP main camera with integrated mechanical gimbal, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera that supports 2.7x optical zoom and a 50MP super wide-angle camera. The main camera supports ARRI LogC3 10-bit video recording in ARRI CINEMA mode, providing more image data for post-production.
The device is equipped with HONOR H1 image processing chip. Besides, AI noise reduction technology helps improve video quality, reduce noise and increase the ability to retain details in both bright and dark areas.
