Feliks Audio: A 25-year journey pursuing handmade tube amplifiers
From ordered tube amplifiers, Feliks Audio gradually focused on the world of high-end headphones with amplifier lines such as Euforia, Envy or recently Bliss. This is also one of the few brands that still designs, refines and assembles its products in Poland. In today's world of hi-end headphones, finding a headset that uses different technology is no longer too difficult. Dynamic, planar magnetic, ribbon or electrostatic all have very strong representatives. But when moving to the amplifier equipment segment, especially tube amplifiers, the number of manufacturers that still maintain manual methods and develop their own products in Europe is no longer large.
Feliks Audio is one such name. With over 25 years of experience developing audio solutions, the entire product design, tuning and assembly process is carried out at Feliks Audio's facility in Lubliniec, Poland. Besides technical factors, the company also focuses on using natural materials, local sources and hand-finishing the case.
Starting from ordered tube amplifiers
Feliks Audio didn't start out as a headphone amplifier brand. In the first stage, the company designed and manufactured many tube amplifier models according to customers' specific requirements. As the high-end headphone market develops, Feliks Audio gradually focuses more on headphone amplifiers and builds its own product lines such as Echo, Elise, Euforia and Envy.
This partly explains how Feliks Audio approaches products today. The company does not try to build a very broad lineup but often focuses on each amplifier design for a long time, continuing to refine or develop new versions from existing platforms.
In its technical documents, Feliks Audio also mentions its philosophy of keeping the signal path simple, limiting the number of components the signal must pass through. This approach is quite familiar in the world of tube amplifiers: instead of adding multiple circuit layers or processing features, designers will try to focus on topology, components and circuit implementation.
Euforia and the imprint of the OTL circuit
One of the names associated with Feliks Audio in the headphone world is Euforia. In the current version, Euforia EVO, Feliks Audio continues to use OTL - Output Transformer-Less architecture. Simply put, the amplifier does not use an output transformer between the power stage and the headphones like many traditional tube amplifier designs.
This is a quite interesting design direction for headphones because it allows building a relatively direct signal path, but also places higher requirements on impedance matching between the amplifier and headphones. Euforia EVO is designed by Feliks Audio for headphones in the impedance range of 32–600 ohm. According to the company, the device can work with many current planar magnetic headset models. Inside the headamp is a point-to-point design, UPOCC conductors with a pair of PsVane CV-181 Mk2 driver bulbs and two 6N13S NOS power bulbs. Instead of chasing huge capacity, the Euforia series focuses more on how to exploit the characteristics of OTL circuits. This is also the design direction that helped Feliks Audio build its name before the company switched to amplifiers with larger capacities.
Envy: When Feliks Audio moved to the 300B
If Euforia represents a part of Feliks Audio's tradition, Envy marks another direction of development.
Envy can be seen as an important move for Feliks Audio: from a brand commonly known for OTL amplifiers for dynamic headphones, the company began to directly approach the planar flagship group, which is much more difficult to attract. Envy then also became a platform for Feliks to develop more advanced versions. By 2025, the company introduces Envy Susvara Edition with increased capacity to 9W, amorphous core output transformer and some upgraded signal path components.
It's not just dynamic and planar
Another detail that shows that Feliks Audio is expanding its range is Bliss. After more than four years of development, Bliss's prototype was first introduced at High End Munich 2024. This is Feliks Audio's first amplifier specifically for electrostatic headphones, still using the 300B tube but comes with an adjustable bias system to be compatible with many different types of electrostatic headphones.
Looking at this process, Feliks Audio's lineup is quite easy to understand: Euforia continues to represent the OTL direction that the company has been pursuing for many years, Envy uses 300B and transformer-coupled output to serve dynamic or planar headphones that need more power, Bliss is responsible for expanding into a completely different world, electrostatic. What they have in common is that Feliks Audio still puts the tube and analog circuit at the center instead of trying to put too many functions into the same device.
A unique direction in the world of tube amplifiers
Feliks Audio currently maintains a fairly consistent development direction, focusing on tube amplifiers, analog circuits and the ability to combine with many different types of headphones. Instead of expanding the portfolio with lots of features, the company mainly develops each amplifier platform according to its own topology. The Euforia EVO continues to represent the OTL direction that has been associated with the Feliks Audio name for many years, while the Envy uses 300B tubes and a transformer output stage to serve headphones that need more power. Recently, Bliss also extended this approach to electrostatic headphones. Although quite different in design, the products still show a common identity: prioritizing analog circuitry, amplifier structure and coordination experience rather than chasing the number of features.
