MacBook Neo price drops sharply in Vietnam

Refer to some Apple authorized dealers in Vietnam, MacBook Neo is being offered for sale at a price of 16 million VND for the 256GB version and 18.5 million VND for the 512GB version. This reduction is equivalent to 500,000 VND for both memory versions.

However, when searching on e-commerce sites, users can buy this product at a price several million VND lower. Specifically, MacBook Neo 256GB version is sold by some stores at a price of 13.6 million VND, 2.9 million VND lower than the listed price.

To be able to buy the product at the above price, users will need to "hunt for sales" at the right time. At the same time, this price only applies to certain color versions.

MacBook Neo is the first Mac computer equipped with a phone processor chip. Specifically, the device integrating the A18 Pro chip will debut on iPhone 16 Pro models in 2024.

The A18 Pro chip on the MacBook Neo has 6 CPU cores and 5 GPU cores, along with 16 Neural Engine cores. The device has 8GB RAM capacity and comes with 256/512GB memory options. The 512GB version will come with a Magic Keyboard with integrated Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The 256GB version does not have a fingerprint integrated.

Some recently leaked information suggests that Apple is considering eliminating the lowest configuration version of the MacBook Neo. This move is considered one of the solutions to deal with increasing production costs.

In fact, Apple has applied a similar strategy to its two product lines. The Mac Studio M3 Ultra 512GB RAM version was discontinued in March, while the Mac mini M4 model with 256GB SSD also stopped being sold at the end of April.

According to MacRumors, these decisions come from higher-than-expected demand. The global memory chip shortage has caused component costs to increase, putting great pressure on the supply chain.
