The white humanoid robot called “White Eagle” made the crowd go wild by delivering a precise high kick to the head of the black opponent called “Matador” (Bullfighter). The kick was so strong that Matador's opponent's head was thrown off, but the match continued normally.

The match between White Eagle and Matador took place on Thursday evening (July 16) at Nam Son Sports and Cultural Center, Shenzhen city (China). This is a match organized to promote the Ultimate Robot Knock-out Legend (URKL) tournament, the world's first freestyle martial arts competition for humanoid robots, initiated by the robotics company Engine AI (headquartered in Shenzhen).

The competition organizers said the tournament will bring together humanoid robots the size of adults, using all martial arts moves to defeat opponents. Because humanoid robots are not afraid of injury like real boxers, the tournament will not restrict any moves.

To date, there have been 32 teams from around the world registered to participate in the tournament, all of which use large humanoid robots capable of delivering powerful punches and kicks to quickly defeat opponents.

Going back to the opening match between White Eagle and Matador, one of the most dramatic moments of the match was when Matador was kicked off his head by his opponent. At this time, Matador's sensing and environmental recognition functions were no longer active, the robot still continuously launched attacks, but the level of accuracy was no longer as high as before.

The opening match showed the endurance of humanoid robots, especially the diverse and powerful attacks that are not inferior to real boxers.

Famous action actor Chung Tu Don also appeared at the event. He said witnessing the battle between humanoid robots with his own eyes was much more impressive than the images seen in science fiction movies.

"To be honest, before I had only seen robots fighting in science fiction movies. But today, for the first time, I witnessed robots fighting in real life right before my eyes. This is a historical breakthrough. The weight of the machines and the precision of the moves are unbelievable," commented Chung Tu Don.

Trieu Tong Duong, founder and CEO of Engine AI, head of the organizing committee, said the free martial arts tournament between humanoid robots is a global event, promoting the development of humanoid robot technology.

"We want to use the tournament to promote research and development of the humanoid robot industry. Let's follow this exciting tournament to see advances in the robotics industry," Trieu Tong Duong shared.

Trieu Tong Duong commented that this tournament will help robot companies develop advanced technologies such as robot decision-making, response speed, balance, movement... This helps humanoid robots become more and more perfect in their self-operating ability to quickly be applied in practice.

The organizers emphasized that this free martial arts competition is not simply about showing off strength, but robots are also scored based on criteria including effective attacks, stable body when operating, defense ability and overall durability.
