JBL Cove speaker system with Wi-Fi connection, Dolby Atmos, expandable with JBL Bar MK2 soundbar

JBL has just introduced Cove, a new multi-room Wi‑Fi speaker system consisting of 3 models, supporting Dolby Atmos, multi-ecosystem connectivity and expansion with the JBL Bar MK2 soundbar. The product line includes three wireless speaker models: JBL Cove M1, Cove P1 and Cove X1, which can operate independently, pair into stereo pairs or connect into a unified audio network via the JBL One application. A notable point of JBL Cove is the use of the Wi‑Fi audio platform instead of relying solely on Bluetooth like traditional portable speakers. Thanks to the connection via the local network, users can simultaneously stream the same content in multiple rooms or play different content for each area, while streaming is not completely dependent on the phone. The system also supports streaming music directly from popular streaming services such as Spotify, Tidal or Qobuz.

JBL Cove M1 is a compact speaker model for daily music listening needs in the family. The product is equipped with two 30mm silk dome tweeters combined with a 4-inch woofer, and fully supports stereo pairing and multi-room audio features.

Meanwhile, JBL Cove P1 is equipped with a built-in battery with a usage time of up to 14 hours, meets IP56 water and dust resistance standards and is the first model in the line to support Dolby Atmos. Users can place the P1 in many different spaces or carry it with them thanks to its design that does not depend on a constant power source.

JBL says the setup experience is optimized to be as simple as possible with a three-step process and no account creation required. Once installed, users simply use the JBL One app to create speaker groups between rooms. If you want to switch to listening to music in a separate area, the content will be streamed there without having to cancel the group or reset the remaining devices. Another notable feature is Music Follows Me. Users just need to hold down the Moment button on the speaker to transfer music or TV sound to another area of ​​the house without having to open the app or operate the phone. JBL also integrates Spotify Tap, allowing quick access to Spotify with just one tap. Regarding connectivity, JBL Cove supports almost all current streaming standards including Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect and Roon Ready. This is also one of the points JBL wants to emphasize when positioning Cove as the center of the home audio ecosystem, instead of just regular wireless speakers. In addition to listening to music, the system can also be combined with JBL Bar 300, 500, 800, 1000 and 1300 MK2 soundbars. Through the JBL One app, the Cove M1 and Cove P1 speakers can function as rear surround channels, expanding the soundbar system into a full Dolby Atmos setup for home theater viewing.
