Hifiman launches HM200 WiFi: Tablet cum DAC/AMP with HIFISTYLE WiFi, using Himalaya Pro LGA R2R circuit, g

HIFIMAN launches a completely new audio device called HM2000 WiFi. Different from conventional DAP lines, HM2000 is shaped as an All-in-one Audio Hub that is both a Streamer and a DAC/Amp, encapsulated in the design of a thin and light 11-inch tablet.

The brightest point on the HM2000 is not only the hardware, but the exclusive wireless audio transmission protocol called HIFISTYLE. With the Android operating system, audio players are often afraid of the phenomenon of the system automatically interfering and compressing the sampling frequency (SRC resampling). The HIFISTYLE protocol completely solves this problem by creating an internal WiFi transport stream (can broadcast hotspot directly without going through a network router). The Lossless audio signal will go straight from the source to the DAC circuit, completely eliminating the operating system's noise processing layers. Thanks to that, users can listen to music, watch videos or even play games with low latency and keep the original quality intact, far superior to traditional DLNA or AirPlay.

Hifiman uses for its devices the HIMALAYA PRO LGA R2R decoding system - a DAC circuit architecture customized and developed by HIFIMAN itself. Compared to popular Delta-Sigma chips, the R2R circuit provides a more analog, natural and musical sound quality. This platform allows the machine to smoothly decode Hi-Res formats such as PCM up to 768kHz/32bit and DSD512.

HIFIMAN equips the device with MediaTek MT8781 processor, comes with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal memory, ensuring smooth touch operations and running music streaming applications (Tidal, Qobuz...).

Despite having an 11-inch screen, the HM2000 is only 14mm thin and weighs about 596g. The device provides two standard headphone jacks: 3.5mm Single-Ended (capacity 100mW@32Ω) and 4.4mm Balanced (320mW@32Ω), which is more than capable of pulling most IEM headphone models and some full-size headphone lines.

The real power of this ecosystem lies in the optional Docking Base. When plugging the HM2000 into the Dock, the system will become a Desktop DAC with full outputs such as RCA, XLR Balanced and S/PDIF. The Line Out output on the dock reaches a voltage of 4.2Vrms with total harmonic distortion (THD+N) below 0.0025%, ready to pair with any Active speaker system or separate amplifier.

According to specifications from the company, the device can play music continuously for about 26.6 hours. If used to watch videos, the device lasts about 4.3 hours and takes about 4.2 hours to fully charge with 5V/2A charging standard via Type-C port.

HIFIMAN HM2000 WiFi is currently distributed in some markets at a price of about $1,740 (equivalent to 40 - 45 million VND) for the standard version. If purchased with Dock, the combo will cost about $2,330.
