More than 4.7 billion transactions through the national data sharing platform
(Dan Tri) - In August, the Ministry of Science and Technology consolidated and completed policies, creating conditions for the development of strategic technologies.
At the regular press conference in August, the Ministry of Science and Technology said that during the period from July 15 to August 14, Vietnam had 2,647 international publications recorded on the Scopus database.
By August 15, the National Data Sharing and Integration Platform had recorded 4.7 billion transactions, 100% of localities had connected and shared data through the platform. The country currently has 968 science and technology enterprises and 20 science and technology exchange units.

August revenue is estimated at 680,586 billion VND, up 36% over the same period last year. Export turnover of digital technology products and goods reached about 22.4 billion USD, an increase of 41%.
The number of ".vn" domain names maintained as of August 15 was 699,722, an increase of 5.5% over the same period last year; Vietnam's IPv6 usage rate reached 66%, ranking 2nd in Southeast Asia and 7th in the world.
In August, the Ministry of Science and Technology received 18,348 industrial property applications, an increase of 30.1% over the same period and granted 8,473 protection titles.
In the field of standards and measurement, specialized agencies have evaluated 10 drafts of national standards (TCVN), published 23 TCVN, and approved 353 samples of measuring instruments.
Accelerate completion of strategic technology policy
Along with specialized results, institutional improvement is one of the key tasks implemented by the Ministry of Science and Technology in August.
On August 24, the National Assembly voted to pass the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Radio Frequency, Law on Telecommunications, Law on Electronic Transactions and Law on Technology Transfer with 100% of delegates present in favor.
Many policies directly related to strategic technology development were also issued. In particular, Decision 1483/QD-TTg approves the Project to develop a system of national research, testing centers and key laboratories, focusing on strategic technology.
Decision 1493/QD-TTg approves the special national science, technology and innovation program on strategic technology, creating a framework for implementing research and development tasks in strategically significant technology fields.
In addition, Decision 1624/QD-TTg amends and supplements a number of contents of the Intellectual Property Strategy to 2030. Regulations on financial mechanisms, funding procedures, and ordering strategic technology research and development tasks are also completed through new circulars.

Another notable activity is the establishment and development of the global network of Vietnamese artificial intelligence experts. The network aims to connect highly qualified AI experts at home and abroad, mobilizing knowledge resources for research, development, technology application and high-quality human resource training.
International cooperation in science, technology and innovation continues to expand with Australia, Singapore and many other partners.
Officially put into operation the one-stop electronic information portal on artificial intelligence
In August 2026, the Ministry of Science and Technology officially announced and put into operation the one-stop electronic information portal on artificial intelligence at ai.dda.gov.vn.
The platform was built to serve the implementation of the Artificial Intelligence Law and its guiding documents; At the same time, it creates a unified focal point for state management activities, information disclosure and supports the safe and responsible development of Vietnam's AI ecosystem.
Through a single online address, businesses, developers, state agencies, experts and people can carry out procedures, declare, look up information and interact with management agencies.
Main functions include receiving registration for controlled trials; notice of risk classification, AI system registration; Receive reports of serious incidents and periodic reports; publicize assessment results and handle violations; At the same time, connect businesses with support programs, infrastructure, shared data and AI development resources.
The platform is expected to help businesses shorten time, reduce costs of implementing procedures and complying with regulations. People can also look up information, monitor, send feedback and receive warnings related to AI systems.
