HyperWork suddenly launched Dock products for laptops and MacBooks

HyperWork has long affirmed its position with ergonomic desk and chair products, space-optimizing accessories and peripheral devices. Recently, the company officially entered the Hub/Dock market with the Dock Plus product. This is considered the final piece to complete HyperWork's standard desk ecosystem. In contrast to the familiar soft "ergonomic" style, Dock Plus possesses a rugged, powerful and "bulky" design to target the group of hardcore users who need high performance. Thank you HyperWork for trusting me to send the product for early experience, teardown, benchmarking and detailed evaluation. The commercial version will officially reach users after completing certifications from Intel and Apple.

What's in the box?

Equipped products include:

Hardware component specifications used on HyperWork DockPlus:

1. Central Controller & Power Management (Core Controller & Power)

2. USB Connection & Expansion Ports (USB Hubs & Switches)

To divide the huge bandwidth from the Thunderbolt 5 port into many smaller USB ports, the device uses a cascading hub chip system:

3. Export graphic images (Display Outputs)

VMM7100 (DP to HDMI2.1, 8K@60): Synaptics' high-end DisplayPort to HDMI 2.1 signal conversion chip. Equipped with up to 2 chips, this dock is capable of simultaneously outputting to two 8K screens at 60Hz (or 4K screens with high refresh rates of 120Hz/144Hz), a superior upgrade compared to older Thunderbolt 4 docks.

4. Other peripheral connections (Network, Audio & Storage)

Appearance design:

HyperWork designed the DockPlus to be quite thick, heavy, and feels sturdy and cold in the hand because of the aluminum shell. With this traditional design, it feels like the outer aluminum shell is the heatsink, but... inside is designed with 2 separate main radiators, the outer shell is beautifully decorated for display, and has no dissipation function. The company did this with the intention of letting enthusiasts touch the shell every day. This move by HyperWork is really great.

For what use?

HyperWork DockPlus has a bulky design and is relatively heavy, certainly not convenient for mobility. In addition, to operate it requires the manufacturer's power adapter included in the product. It's a LITEON 180W

As mentioned at the beginning of the article, HyperWork is a Vietnamese technology brand (launched in 2021), positioned as a pioneering start-up in the field of design and production of workspace setup products and ergonomic devices. This company focuses on optimizing for office users, content creators and gamers who require high frequency of computer use but still need aesthetics, neatness and health protection. This DockPlus product is the missing piece in their “ergonomic workplace” setup, so this Dock must be placed in a non-mobile location. Expanded, this Dock is inherently the "connection center" of all peripheral devices, whether you own a Mac or Windows computer system, many users always have their own screen, their own favorite mouse buttons, even the sound of the radio speakers also have their own preferences. Plug and Play, on the market today with Dock, there are many options, they all have meaning, remove the laptop for mobile work, attach it to the Dock and have its own equipment system, giving a more enjoyable working feeling with only one Thunderbolt cord.

Advantage:

Disadvantages:

Estimated selling price and launch time:

HyperWork's first participation in a pure technology product is the Dock connecting Mac and Windows computer devices, the missing piece of the ergonomic desk puzzle, combined with many technologies equipped for it, this device is not cheap.

Currently, the product is in the process of being completed and waiting for certification from Intel and Apple before reaching users. The product in the article is a sample product from the factory, used for feature testing.
