IFA26: Dell Alienware AW3226Q in hand: Tandem WOLED RGB Stripe 4K 165Hz 32" panel

One of two Dell monitors launched at IFA 2026 this year, the Alienware AW3226Q is the one I pay more attention to as it is equipped with a lot of good technology and gaming support features in it. Looking more closely, the AW3226Q is a screen that uses LG's WOLED panel, the RGB Stripe structure that Dell introduced on the AW3926QW flagship model at Computex.

I like 32-inch screens because they are large enough to display content without being too overwhelming like ultra-wide or small screens like 27-inch and 24-inch.

Dell Alienware AW3226Q has Alienware's character with a glowing "alien" logo, a rounded design that resembles spaceships, this design philosophy of Dell Alienware has existed since ancient times.

The focus of the AW3226Q will be the Tandem WOLED panel with RGB Stripe structure. This technology combines a four-layer OLED Tandem light-emitting cluster with a standard RGB subpixel matrix, to address two long-standing weaknesses of OLED monitors: sustained brightness and text display quality.

In terms of structure, the light-emitting part of the panel uses RBGB Tandem architecture consisting of four OLED layers: red, blue, green and blue. Instead of forcing a layer of organic material to emit strong light, these layers share the ability to handle the light load, thereby improving brightness, energy efficiency and durability potential compared to single-layer OLED panels. LG Display says the RBGB architecture is a step forward from the previous B-Y-B structure, when the gold layer is separated into separate color components to create better quality white light.

The most important point is the subpixel display layer. Traditional WOLED typically uses an RGBW or RGWB layout, which adds white subpixels to support brightness. The RGB Stripe version eliminates this white subpixel, leaving each pixel with only three red, green and blue subpixels arranged vertically, similar to traditional LCD RGB Stripe. Dell showed off the AW3926QW at Computex and now they're doing the same with the AW3226Q, but this is not an ultra-wide monitor.

The expected price for the AW3226Q is about 699 USD in the international market, a price that can be said to be competitive in the high-end OLED gaming monitor segment. However, it is unclear whether Dell will bring this screen model to the Vietnamese market.

In addition to the panel, the Dell Alienware AW3226Q has 4K resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, 1000 nits peak brightness and is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified and supports Dolby Vision.

In terms of design, as I said, this screen is typical of Dell Alienware, round and round but still extremely gaming and outstanding. Not many brands retain their unique product design after so many years. The "alien" logo glows on the back, the metal stand is sturdy and can flexibly rotate, tilt, and pan in 4 directions. In addition, if you want to use a VESA mount, you can also use it.

The I/O port is smartly placed. I see that on the bottom edge there are USB-C, USB-A ports and a 3.5mm jack to quickly connect peripheral devices, or charge the phone if necessary, without having to reach to the back. More pictures:
