iOS 27 with Siri AI integration has its first trial
After more than a month of limited testing for programmers only, a series of new operating systems such as iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Public Beta began to be downloaded on all supported Apple devices. Compared to the Developer Beta, the Public Beta is closer to the official version, limiting many serious errors but may still have small errors that affect the usage process such as application compatibility or increased battery consumption.
Users access Settings > General > Software Update, open the Beta Update feature and start updating to the latest iOS 27. iOS 27 supports iPhone 11, second generation iPhone SE and above, but only iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max or higher models have the completely new Siri using AI.
Siri AI currently only supports the official language English. If Vietnamese users want to experience the new virtual assistant, they will need to set the device's region to the US and select the English language. At that time, Siri can still ask and answer questions in Vietnamese via text when interacting in the application.
All-new Siri integrates artificial intelligence
The most prominent feature of iOS 27 is the new Siri equipped with deep AI integration. Powered by Google's Gemini models, Siri is now significantly more conversational, connects to the Internet when needed, and helps users brainstorm ideas, refine plans, answer complex questions, and even create detailed schedules.
Apple also introduced dedicated Siri software, bringing its AI assistant closer to competing chatbot platforms. This app stores previous conversations, allowing users to continue sessions across multiple Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro.
Users can still activate Siri by saying "Hey Siri", pressing the side button or swiping down from Dynamic Island on supported iPhones and iPads. The assistant's interface has also been completely refreshed, allowing interaction right on the external screen as well as within the application.
However, Apple will gradually roll out many of Siri's AI features through a waitlist system. These features will only be available on select devices due to hardware requirements. For example, Siri's advanced AI features are only available on models with 12 GB RAM or more, including iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max.
Camera and Photos app upgraded with AI
The iOS 27 photography app will embed Siri directly, allowing users to point the camera at objects, landmarks, documents, food or bills and ask the virtual assistant about what they're seeing. The system also has the ability to analyze restaurant bills, share costs using Apple Cash, and provide nutritional information for meals. Previously, these AI features did not work seamlessly and used a separate mode via the Camera button.
The Photos app also adds AI-based editing tools. Instead of just processing on the device like before, iOS 27 allows using the power on the server to increase the quality of the object deletion feature. The new Expand feature allows adding more details to the frame or the Adjust frame feature allows changing the original space and shooting angle.
Upgrade Spotlight and Safari on Mac and iPad computers
On Mac and iPad computers, the Spotlight search system is integrated with Siri AI, allowing owners to get answers to many questions, complex contextual searches in just a few seconds. Users can also right-click any image, file or text on the screen and ask Siri AI for more information without opening a new window.
With the Notify Me feature, Safari browser can immediately notify users of any changes on a website upon prior request such as price changes, ticket status, new news updates.
The Liquid Glass interface is refreshed
iOS 27 brings some improvements in Liquid Glass design such as adjusting the transparency of the interface. Other additions include customizing alarm volume, adjusting EQ for AirPods, improving connectivity, modifying the interface for each app, and improving stability.
The official versions of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27 will be downloaded by Apple next September, at the same time as the launch of the 2026 iPhone series.
