iPhone 16 Plus counts down the day it leaves shelves in Vietnam

(Dan Tri) - After introducing iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, Apple quietly discontinued a number of older product lines, including iPhone 16 Plus.

Talking to Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Nguyen Lac Huy, communications representative of CellphoneS system, said that although iPhone 16 Plus has stopped being sold on Apple's online store, it is still maintained for business in the systems due to the remaining inventory before Apple's death.

Meanwhile, Minh Tuan Mobile representative said that with the remaining inventory, iPhone 16 Plus is expected to be sold out by the end of December. After this time, the ability to maintain a stable supply for the product will not be high.

"In the near future, the system will not continue to maintain the iPhone 16 Plus business after the existing stock is sold out. This decision is consistent with the supply situation as well as the product portfolio orientation after new iPhone generations are introduced," Minh Tuan Mobile representative added.

In fact, the supply of iPhone 16 Plus in Vietnam is currently not too much. Even some Apple authorized retail systems in Vietnam have stopped selling this product.

"We are out of stock of iPhone 16 Plus. With the current supply situation and market signals, the possibility of iPhone 16 Plus continuing to maintain business in Vietnam is not high," said Ms. Van Thi Ngoc Yen, Director of Apple products at Di Dong Viet.

Currently, iPhone 16 Plus is being offered by some dealers at a price of 24.5 million VND for the 128GB version and 27.5 million VND for the 256GB version. This price is about 1.5 million VND different from the standard iPhone 16 version.

iPhone 16 Plus was announced by Apple in September 2024, at the same time as iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Throughout its life cycle, iPhone 16 Plus hardly made much of a mark on the market.

Even, the sales of this model are worse than the cheap iPhone 16e version. This is also considered the main reason why Apple stopped developing the iPhone Plus product line and switched to iPhone Air in 2025.
