iPhone 17 is the best-selling phone in the world
(Dan Tri) - According to a report from Counterpoint Research, iPhone 17 was the best-selling smartphone model in the world in the second quarter. This product line accounts for 6% of smartphones sold globally.
The report shows that Apple and Samsung are the two brands that dominate the global best-selling smartphone rankings. Accordingly, each manufacturer has 5 products on this list.

The number of phones sold by these two brands accounts for 26% of the total number of phones sold globally, an increase of 2% over the same period last year. This growth occurred in the context of an 11% decline in the entire phone market due to limitations related to component supply.
Senior analyst Karn Chauhan from Counterpoint Research said that Apple's total phone sales grew by 5% over the same period last year, despite the general downturn in the market.
"iPhone sales increased in regions such as India, Japan, the Middle East and Africa. Notably, the Korean market nearly doubled in growth in the second quarter. This was driven by the iPhone 17 product line," Karn Chauhan shared.
The standard iPhone 17 was the best-selling smartphone model in the second quarter. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max duo also witnessed strong demand growth thanks to innovative sales programs and promotional activities.
In addition, the iPhone 17e version also received a lot of attention from users when ranked 7th. This device is popular in the US and Japanese markets thanks to improvements in storage capacity and the addition of MagSafe technology while the selling price remains unchanged compared to the previous generation.

On the other side of the battle line, Samsung also has 5 products appearing in the best-selling phone rankings. Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra ranked 4th on the list and is the best-selling Android smartphone.
"The Galaxy S26 Ultra model outperformed its predecessor and accounted for more than half of the entire model's sales. Industry-first privacy screen technology along with AI features differentiate this phone model from its competitors," shared senior analyst Harshit Rastogi.
Meanwhile, Samsung's Galaxy A smartphone lines in the low-cost and mid-range segments continue to receive a lot of attention thanks to their affordable prices, wide coverage and long-term use value.
