iPhone 18 Pro Max competes in battery with Galaxy S26 Ultra and a series of high-end smartphones

(Dan Tri) - What is the battery life of the iPhone 18 Pro Max compared to other high-end phone models currently on the market? The article below will give you the answer.
iPhone 18 Pro Max is the iPhone with Apple's largest battery ever. Many technology experts have "dissected" the iPhone 18 Pro Max and discovered that the version sold in the US, only uses eSIM and does not have a physical SIM tray, and is equipped with a 5,567mAh battery. Meanwhile, the international version, with an additional physical SIM, uses a 5,391mAh battery.

iPhone 18 Pro Max is also equipped with the A20 Pro chip, which according to Apple will provide the strongest performance and most energy efficiency in the mobile market. The A20 Pro chip is the first mobile chip manufactured on the 2nm process.
So what will the battery life of the iPhone 18 Pro Max be like compared to other high-end smartphones currently on the market?
To find the answer, technology YouTube channel TechDroider conducted a comprehensive test to compare battery life on iPhone 18 Pro Max with its elder version iPhone 17 Pro Max, along with a series of high-end smartphones, including Galaxy S26 Ultra, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, OnePlus 15 and Pixel 11 Pro XL.
Among the products compared, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and OnePlus 15 duo possess outstanding batteries, with capacities of 7,500mAh and 7,300mAh respectively. Next is the iPhone 18 Pro Max with a 5,391mAh battery. This is the first time an iPhone is equipped with a larger capacity battery than a Samsung smartphone, when the Galaxy S26 Ultra only has a 5,000mAh battery.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max has a modest battery compared to its competitors, with only a 4,832mAh capacity, while Google's Pixel 11 Pro XL has a 5,115mAh battery.
To ensure fairness of the test, all devices were 100% fully charged and had the same screen brightness setting. TechDroider has allowed smartphones to operate continuously with heavy tasks such as playing games, watching videos, browsing the web... until the battery is completely depleted.

Battery capacity, screen size, and processor chip of smartphone models were compared by TechDroider (Photo cut from clip).
Despite having a battery with a larger capacity than the iPhone 18 Pro Max and Galaxy S26 Ultra, Google's Pixel 11 Pro XL is the first product to run out of battery after 10 hours and 49 minutes of use. The average temperature of the product when running continuously is 34.9 degrees Celsius.
iPhone 17 Pro Max is the next product to run out of battery, after running for 11 hours and 3 minutes, with an average temperature of 37 degrees Celsius.
Galaxy S26 Ultra is the next smartphone to "leave the race", with an achievement just one minute longer than the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The average temperature of the device after continuous use is 37.2 degrees Celsius.
Thus, it is not too surprising that the three smartphone models with the smallest batteries have one after another run out of battery before their competitors.

Despite having the largest capacity battery, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max "fell" before the iPhone 18 Pro Max, with a record of 11 hours and 39 minutes. The average temperature of the product when used is also at the highest level, up to 38.1 degrees Celsius.
iPhone 18 Pro Max with A20 Pro chip and 5,391mAh battery lasted 11 hours and 40 minutes. The average temperature of the product is only 36.1 degrees Celsius, showing that the vapor chamber cooling system on iPhone 18 Pro Max is effective when using the device continuously.
OnePlus 15 is the winning product in this test, operating continuously for 13 hours and 33 minutes, with an average temperature of 35.4 degrees Celsius. The reason this phone can operate for a long time, in addition to its large battery capacity, is also thanks to its smaller screen size than competitors, only 6.78 inches, which helps consume less energy to process graphic content.
Note: TechDroider's test results are for reference only. Actual battery life may vary depending on user usage. Using a smartphone with a continuously bright screen will cause the battery to drain faster than normal use.
