iPhone 18 Pro Max has such a serious error that users have to change their devices

"Some phones may have an error of not being able to make calls, text messages or use the mobile network (including calling the 911 emergency number). Please update your iPhone to iOS 27.0.1 immediately," AT&T sent a notice to those using the iPhone 18 Pro Max and using this carrier's services.

The iOS 27.0.1 update was released by Apple early last week. However, Apple said this update only fixes the Face ID facial recognition error that causes the iPhone to freeze and the zoom error when taking photos with the iPhone 18 Pro, without mentioning the error of AT&T network users.

According to many people using the AT&T network, even after they upgraded their iPhones to the latest iOS 27.0.1 platform, the error is still not fixed.

“I still cannot make or receive calls on my brand new iPhone 18 Pro Max, even though I upgraded to iOS 27.0.1,” one user commented on social networks.

This shows that the error encountered on the iPhone 18 Pro Max and AT&T network is most likely related to the hardware on the device, so it cannot be completely fixed with regular software updates. However, this problem only occurred with a small number of users in the US, and has not been recorded for other carriers globally.
