Recently leaked images have revealed detailed information about the battery capacity on the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Accordingly, the battery on the iPhone 18 Pro Max will have a capacity of 5,391mAh, 12% larger than the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Not stopping there, the version reserved for the US market (only supports eSIM) will likely have a larger capacity battery. Some rumors suggest that the battery capacity on the iPhone 18 Pro Max in the US will be 5,567mAh.
With a larger capacity battery, iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to provide longer usage time. However, this also comes with limitations as the weight of the device can be heavier. Currently, it is unclear whether Apple will apply silicon-carbon battery technology to its new product line or not.
A report from The Elec said that Apple is asking supplier partners to reduce the price of OLED panels for the iPhone 18 Pro Max series in the context of increasing costs of memory chips and many other components.
Accordingly, Apple has offered a suggested price of about 70 USD for each OLED panel. However, the final figure the company has to pay could be even lower.
Industry estimates suggest Samsung Display and LG Display will offer the panels at a price of around $66.50 each. This reduction is equivalent to about 20% compared to the price Apple paid for the OLED panel on the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Not only Apple, smartphone manufacturers globally are trying to offset memory costs by reducing the cost of purchasing other components, including display panels and camera modules.
A report from Counterpoint Research said that the cost of components (BOM) for iPhone 18 Pro Max will increase by at least 300 USD compared to its predecessor. This is an estimate for the version with 1TB of storage. The cost of NAND flash memory for the device will exceed $250. The above number is equivalent to half of the entire component cost on the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

In a latest report, analyst Tim Culpan said the memory supply shortage may prevent Apple from reaching the desired iPhone 18 Pro inventory level.
"This year, the new iPhone will use the A20 Pro processor. This is the first chip produced on TSMC's N2 process, which began mass production early this year. After that, the A20 Pro chip will be packaged with DRAM according to TSMC's process.
A20 Pro chip production is progressing well with stable output. However, TSMC has a backlog of chips worth about $1 billion due to having to wait for DRAM supply, before these chips can be packaged and moved to the next step," Culpan wrote.
This bottleneck risks spreading to the final stages of the iPhone production process. The main circuit board assembly and device finishing are mainly carried out by Foxconn and BYD in China. Delays in the delivery of packaged processors may slow down production schedules.
