iPhone 18 Pro Max revealed a series of new information

According to MacRumors, Apple will use different types of network modems on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max depending on the market. A report from supplier Tata Electronics said that the iPhone 18 Pro in the US market will continue to use Qualcomm hardware to meet the high-speed mmWave 5G band.

Meanwhile, international versions will be equipped with C2 modem (codename Ganymede) designed by Apple itself. Modem C2 is said to not support mmWave, but has an advantage in power saving compared to competitors from Qualcomm.

This leads to the result that iPhone 18 Pro users in countries outside the US may own a device with better battery life than the version sold in the US.

According to 9to5mac, iPhone 18 Pro Max will be equipped with the battery with the largest capacity ever. Reports indicate that the eSIM model may have a 5,425mAh battery, while the version with a physical SIM slot integrates a 5,235mAh battery.

The above figure is significantly higher than the levels of 5,088mAh and 4,823mAh on the previous iPhone 17 Pro Max. Combined with the A20 Pro chip manufactured on a new process, the device promises to bring better usage time.

However, one point users need to consider is the difference in storage technology between memory versions. Apple is expected to use faster TLC NAND memory for the 256GB and 512GB models.

Conversely, high capacity models such as 1TB and 2TB can switch to using QLC NAND memory from SK Hynix. QLC technology offers higher storage density and is cheaper, but it has slower write speeds and slightly less durability than TLC technology.

However, for daily use tasks, the performance difference is expected to be difficult to detect without using specialized measurement tools.

It is expected that the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max generations will officially launch this fall. This event could also be the time when Apple introduces the first folding screen iPhone, marking a new era in its design.
