When will iPhone 18 Pro Max launch?

According to MacRumors, Apple may hold a new product introduction event on Wednesday (September 9). The company can start accepting pre-orders from Saturday (September 12) and open for sale the following Friday (September 18).
Many leaked sources said the company will change its product launch plan this year. Specifically, Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and foldable iPhone in September. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 18 version will launch in early 2027.
A report from The Elec said that Apple is asking supplier partners to reduce the price of OLED panels for the iPhone 18 Pro Max series in the context of increasing costs of memory chips and many other components.
Accordingly, Apple has offered a suggested price of about 70 USD for each OLED panel. However, the final figure the company has to pay could be even lower.
Industry estimates suggest Samsung Display and LG Display will offer the panels at a price of around $66.50 each. This reduction is equivalent to about 20% compared to the price Apple paid for the OLED panel on the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Not only Apple, smartphone manufacturers globally are trying to offset memory costs by reducing the cost of purchasing other components, including display panels and camera modules.

In a post on social network Weibo, Ice Universe account revealed that the iPhone 18 Pro Max will be equipped with a camera system capable of changing aperture. Worth mentioning, this feature only appears exclusively on the Pro Max version, while the Pro model does not support it.
This feature allows users to adjust the amount of light entering the sensor depending on the shooting environment. Specifically, when shooting in low light conditions, the aperture will automatically widen to capture more light, making the image brighter and more detailed.
The fact that Apple only equips this feature on the Pro Max product line will contribute to the decentralization of devices as well as users. Previously, Apple did the same thing when equipping a 5x telephoto camera on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, while the iPhone 15 Pro version only supports a 3x telephoto camera.
