LG W6 is great: slim design, wireless, beautiful colors, high brightness...

I've been looking at the LG W6 for the past two weeks and I'm really in love with it. I have loved LG's OLED TVs for many years when this company dominated high-end OLED display technology while other brands were still using old technology. However, in recent years, other brands have also had OLED and LCD, which have now reached very good levels and large sizes like TCL's QD and SQD MiniLED TVs... This year LG has changed drastically, overcoming the weakness in brightness by enhancing 4 OLED layers instead of 1 or 2 layers. Therefore, LG W6's brightness is very high, not inferior to high-end QD MiniLED TVs. Now we have the great color of OLED and high brightness so the overall color and light are very good. LG W6 is also different and superior in two other factors: wireless connection via external box and can be hung close to the wall with the entire TV being only 9mm thin. The LG W6's hinge is also designed to be recessed into the TV body, in the 9mm part. So when you hang the TV close to the wall, it's completely close, really close. The only thing I'm not satisfied with, but I think it's suitable for most people, is the 83" size. I'm not satisfied because I've been using an 88" TV for more than 5 years, so even if I change a TV, I don't want to change to a smaller TV. But I think the 83" is very reasonable. Many people are still afraid of the viewing distance, so they bother with 65, 70 or 80" TVs. If they strongly choose 83", that's great, but if they tell them to go to 98", they probably won't be confident and comfortable. But if it goes down to 65" or 70" at this time, it is not recommended. During the experience, I mounted the TV on a 1cm piece of meca to see its thinness as well as its back to feel it better. Because it hangs close to the wall, it will look like a thin painting.

Image visibility and anti-glare ability

The first is Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 technology

LG equips the latest technologies and solutions in W6. What stands out to me is the 4-layer stacked OLED panel structure LG calls Primary RGB Tandem 2.0. Right in its name, you can see two important parts: the color creation part will be RGB and Tandem, which means many layers stacked on top of each other. As a result, we have brighter, purer colors and higher brightness. It is superior and very different from the technology that LG used on their previous OLED TVs called WOLED.

The 4-layer overlapping OLED structure that LG brought to CES 2026 with a commitment to achieve brightness of up to 4500 nits. The actual results are truly amazing. The colors are clearly separated, very rich, very vibrant but not contaminated or smeared. Because it is an OLED screen, the black color is extremely well controlled, creating images with very high contrast so they are always clear and good looking.

Next is Brightness Booster Ultra

This is not a single feature but a perfect combination of Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 (4-stack) hardware and AI algorithms on α11 AI Processor Gen3. Specifically: The 4-layer tandem structure (R + B + G + B) allows independent light emission, increasing the amount of light without pushing the current too high, reducing heat and increasing durability. At the same time, Light Boosting Algorithm and Light Control Architecture analyze real-time images, optimizing local light intensity in HDR highlight areas, making the TV brighter. The result is excellent high peak brightness (up to ~3000–4500 nits depending on size), vibrant colors, clear details even in bright rooms, while still retaining OLED's signature Perfect Black. Brightness Booster Ultra helps W6 become one of the brightest OLEDs today, far exceeding the traditional limits of OLED technology.

Technology helps prevent glare

LG OLED evo W6 is equipped with Reflection Free Premium technology - the most advanced reflection reduction technology available today, and is the first TV to receive Intertek certification according to IDMS 11.2.2 standards. Unlike conventional matte coatings (which easily turn blacks gray and reduce sharpness), Reflection Free Premium significantly reduces reflected light from room lights, windows or strong light sources while still maintaining high light transmittance. Thanks to that, the TV maintains absolutely deep Perfect Black and accurate, vibrant colors even in bright environments. Extremely low reflection efficiency helps the image to be clear, glare-free, and highlight details still stand out. I put the TV right in the middle of the coffee room. Sophisticated with a bright door and lots of lights, but watching is still comfortable and not uncomfortable.

Wireless signal connection capability

LG is equipped with the ability to wirelessly transmit content from a connection box called Zero Connect Box. That means you only need to connect electricity to the TV. Signal connection ports such as HDMI, USB, antenna... will connect to an external box and that box connects to the wireless TV. So you will easily set up the TV in the living room the way you want, without being heavily dependent on connections like HDMI cables.

This connection part is related to the aesthetics of the TV setup. Currently, I see that LG and Samsung TVs have this technology. It can stream 4K 144Hz content comfortably. Zero Connect Box uses LG True Wireless Technology - LG's exclusive wireless transmission solution. This technology operates on the 60 GHz high frequency band combining multi-path technology and smart algorithms, allowing extremely high-speed data transmission of up to 30 Gbps. Thanks to that, the box transmits 4K visual lossless images (almost no loss of quality), supports high refresh rates (up to 165Hz), HDR, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos sound with low latency. Transmission distance is up to 10 meters, helping users neatly hide all HDMI, USB, antenna cables... in the box and place it anywhere in the room. The result is that the W6 screen is only 9mm thick, sticks close to the wall like a painting while still maintaining performance close to that of a wired connection. This is the foundation that helps W6 become a true True Wireless Wallpaper TV. There are still speakers on the TV, but they are not on the zero connection, guys.

9mm hangs close to the wall, really thin and sexy

TVs mostly have large screens, 16:9 ratio, the thinner the bezels the better... so the common denominator between brands will be the same. However, the LG W6 is completely different thanks to the sexiness of the entire TV's thinness of only about 9mm and when hung on the wall, the hook is completely close, not a single piece sticks out.

I still choose tvOS from the Apple TV 4K instead of using the TV's webOS.

The only thing I don't like about LG W6 is that the operating system is not beautiful and the interface is not beautiful. The operating system's UI is quite messy, with AI of all kinds, but the interface's colors are flat and few colors, not exploiting the beautiful colors of the TV. I use an Apple TV 4K, it has a beautiful interface, responds quickly and exploits the TV's colors more effectively.

I also watch football with 4K resolution to better understand the quality of the TV.
