Galaxy Z Fold8 orders increased by 52% in Vietnam

According to Korea Times, the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8 models received a total of 1.44 million orders in Korea, exceeding the record of 1.38 million units that the Galaxy Note10 set in 2019, and higher than the 1.35 million units of the Galaxy S26 at the beginning of the year or the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 with 1.04 million units ordered before launching in 2025.

Among them, Galaxy Z Fold8 accounts for 70% of total pre-orders, and users aged 20-30 years old account for more than half. The number of female customers ordering doubled compared to the previous generation of Galaxy folding phones.

In Southeast Asia and Oceania, according to Samsung's announcement, new smartphones also received a record number of pre-orders. Particularly, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra here increased by nearly 60% compared to Galaxy Z Fold7.

In the Vietnamese market, the Galaxy Z8 Series will be available to users from August 8. A Samsung Vietnam representative said the number of orders was 2.4 times higher than the previous generation, of which the Galaxy Z Fold8 accounted for more than half. In the first 24 hours of sale and delivery, the company recorded a 52% increase in the total number of Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra orders compared to the Z Fold7 in the same period last year.

In Samsung's other key markets, the Galaxy Z8 Series also achieved strong growth. For example, India reached more than 271,000 pre-orders within 72 hours of booking opening at the end of July, with 45% of orders coming from small urban areas instead of concentrated in large cities. According to GizmoChina, this shows that folding screen phones are expanding to new customer groups in India.

Samsung has not announced the total number of devices in the European market, but said orders also increased by 20%, of which the Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra had a 70% increase in pre-orders compared to the Z Fold7.

Galaxy Z8 Series launched in London at the Unpacked 2026 event on July 22. In particular, the Galaxy Z Fold8 costs from 47 million VND, for the first time using a more square screen ratio, with a 7.6-inch 4:3 main screen, and a 5.5-inch 10:16 external screen. The device uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite chip, but there is only one version with 12 GB RAM and a maximum of 1 TB internal memory.

Meanwhile, the Z Fold8 Ultra version starts at 53 million, equipped with 6.5-inch external and 8-inch internal screens, running Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite chip but has more configuration options, including 12 GB RAM, 256/512 GB internal memory and 16 GB RAM, 1 TB internal memory. The device has a 5,000 mAh battery, 600 mAh higher than the previous generation despite no change in size. Fast charging power increased to 45 W.

The clamshell folding phone model Galaxy Z Flip8 is priced from 32 million VND, with a design not much different from the Z Flip7, but the screen is improved to limit folds. The device is equipped with Exynos 2600 chip, has two configuration versions of 12 GB RAM and 256 or 512 GB internal memory.
