Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra screen 'almost fold-free'

Setsuna Digital, a leak source that is considered reputable because of its close links with the component supply chain, posted a close-up video of a smartphone, said to be the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, with the opening and closing process, video playback and display of the screen from many different angles.

The highlight in the video is the screen fold. On the new generation, Samsung has optimized the deep groove to become a shallower and flatter surface. In normal experience, the fold is almost invisible to the naked eye. Users can only detect slight edges when tilting the device or placing it directly under a strong light source.
Last year, the Galaxy Z Fold7 generation also made an impression with its thin and light design and significantly reduced wrinkles compared to the Z Fold6. With this year's Z Fold8 Ultra, Samsung continues to solve a major limitation, bringing the display quality of Samsung phones on par with famous folding models from China for flat screen screens such as Oppo Find N6.
According to PhoneArena, Z Fold8 Ultra is essentially the successor to Z Fold7 but is slimmer and more advanced. Meanwhile, the standard Z Fold8 is expected to have a new design with a wider screen.
Samsung will hold the Unpacked 2026 event on July 22 in London, expected to announce the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 series along with several smart watch versions.
