According to leaked sources, Apple's first folding screen iPhone model, temporarily called iPhone Fold, may launch on September 8 with the iPhone 18 line. Recently, technology site JamOnline posted a series of model photos, revealing the overall design of the product.

This is said to be a model for the development and manufacturing of production molds, so it is said to closely reflect the design of the commercial version.

The image shows that the iPhone Fold uses a book-style folding design, with a body that is quite thin even when folded. When opened, the device is said to be thinner than the iPhone 17 Pro.

Notably, the inside screen has a fairly square ratio instead of a long form like many folding smartphones today, making the device more compact when used.

According to leaked information, iPhone Fold will have a 5.5-inch external screen for use like a regular smartphone. When opened, the main screen is 7.8 inches in size, equivalent to an iPad mini. Both screens use a "punch" front camera.

The series of photos also shows that the device is equipped with a dual camera cluster on the back with a horizontal layout. However, Jon Prosser, host of Front Page Tech channel, said Apple has solved one of the biggest disadvantages of folding phones, which is the fold on the screen.

According to Prosser, Apple will use pressure-dispersing metal panels combined with liquid metal alloy hinges to reduce or completely eliminate folds on the screen. This is considered a factor that helps iPhone Fold compete with competitors in the segment.

This source also said that Apple may price the iPhone Fold in the range of 2,000-2,500 USD, higher than the current iPhone Pro Max line.
